Whenever anyone mentions care not taking his chances to prove
that he is reliable in an England shirt, they conveniently
forget that Youngs has arguably had far more very average games
for England. I'd say Care has made a few more high profile
errors but also done more on his own to win games. Youngs has
been pretty average in a lot of games and his box kicking is
less reliable than people make out.
Constant box kicking is also a really negative tactic.
Robshaw I agree has the most obvious competition and no
complaints with him missing out, though I'm sure he'd do a good
job.
I always thought Daly would be great in attack but a liability
in defence at 15. During the last season I actually thought his
attacking input was pretty disappointing. If he can bring back
that attacking element which he's shown well at 13 and on the
wing then it would help balance out his poor defence.

The two aren't mutually exclusive for me. Youngs has to be one
of the most overrated England players of the modern era.

Full agree. Young’s I’m my opinion has been overrated for years.
Bores me to death at times, I’ve had pizzas delivered to me
quicker than he gets balls out of rucks at times

You’re right 2015 is was a great shame how the team looked. But
when you think of it, Brown was one of the few who put in solid
performances on each match he played in the World Cup. And since
then it’s very hard to remember an England game when he hasn’t.
It’s a big shame for him as he really proved a lot of hater
wrong last season. He had some outstanding performances in the
Quins shirt and even topped the stats for the most offloads last
season in the official stats. Something he used to rarely ever
do. I hope he gets a late call up, because sadly this would have
probably been his last World Cup had he been included on the
plane. But let’s hope he gets a late call up. He more than
deserves it

Given we have a lock at 6 and Singleton on the bench on
Saturday, I am starting to wonder how many of Eddie's preferred
back row will actually be fit for the RWC...
...and then just how many of them have to be crocked for at
least one Robshaw to get a call. Brown, I think, is probably
only one injury away from the phone ringing, whereas Care could
be the last fit EQP scrum half and Eddie would still probably
call my eight year old daughter first.

Jones says the team wasn’t working - and they’re the players he
ditched as a result. So he obviously feels they aren’t right.

That may be so but the team was demonstrably performing better
before they (amongst others) were dropped. Objectively in terms
of results, and I think most fans would say in terms of
subjective performance as well.
If Jones' conclusion from that data is that the team wasn't
working before (despite a lengthy win streak, successful tours
away, winning every autumn match and 2 6Ns) and that it now is
working better without the "experienced" players (though he
still has many), then I am deeply worried about his ability to
infer from basic information

I'm just going on what he says. And last week was infinitely
better than the autumn and 6 nations.

Yeah but he's not dropped anyone per se since the 6N or AIs!
Except not starting Farrell and Youngs, maybe that's the
difference, he should drop them both ;)
