Sure, let's just kick the two italian teams and the two SA teams
in the Pro14 to the kerb & retreat into the four home nations.
That's a good plan...

I used to make jokes about how the Pro league was a bit of a
joke, but the last couple of seasons it has improved, and I'd
hate to see that broken up.

No interest in that at all and would not bother to watch. They
want it to happen because they do not get the sponsorship and TV
revenue that the Prem clubs get.

I can't see the advantage for the English teams. Maybe you could
claim some Welsh teams are better than some English, and this
would bring the standard up somewhat. But as we saw last season,
the difference between top and bottom English teams is pretty
small these days.

I can only see this as a negative move for English clubs. Pro
14 attendance is abysmal, the away fans seldom travel. It would
be more expensive to follow Prem teams awa from home. I also
the the week in/week out standard is higher in our league.
British league = NO THANKS

Not sure why there’s so much negativity about the subject. The
article clearly states that “the public, on both sides of the
Bridge, would love to see it”.

There was an article in the Times earlier this week talking
about how the idea was almost entirely driven by the Welsh and
that there was no interest in it from an English club
perspective.

I don't think there is any benefit to the English Clubs , this
is Revenue Driven by the Welsh Regions.
More concerning would be the influence of CVC as they get a grip
of the Pro 14 and what they seek to drive through .
They have already floated the idea of a 'grand final ' between
Prem winners and Pro 14 winners .. and various other
combinations of mini leagues .
Paymasters will ultimately call the tune .

deadly , sadly Im not sure the fans interests are of prime
concern to CVC , depends how much the broadcasters are prepared
to pay to screen it .
