In similar news I believe that the home unions are meeting to
discuss as women's Lions tour, possibly with USA and Canada
       alongside NZ as likely tours

for example. (Worth bearing in mind the FA banned women’s
football in 1921 and didn’t allow it back until 1969, and didn’t
create an actual FA run league until 1993).

Fair points, and you clearly speak from a position of knowledge
       and experience, which I respect.
It does amaze me when people knock the women's game. I think
back to some of the turgid games that I've seen where it's been
       knock-ons and handling errors, and a succession of penalties;
then I think back to the Hong Kong 7's women's final where
England beat Australia in what was quite honestly one of the
best games of 7's I've ever seen. And as said before, in what is
an increasingly aggressive and attritional sport, I respect
anyone who takes to the field.
On a slightly connected note, I was surprised to read this
       article recently:

I enjoy watching the womens team. I would watch anything Quins
(as I do also West Ham and England). Men, Women, age group. I
accept the games are different, of course they are. Women in
general are not as physically strong as men but from watching
the women the levels of skill involved are impressive (and
improving all the time which is a good thing). The women put
their bodies on the line as much as the men do (take a look at a
few of the players social media to see how many have had
Ops/Procedures at the end of the season). Re the name change,
the players seem very happy with it so surely that is the main
       thing.
They have also started announcing a few signings for next
       season.

Well I thoroughly enjoyed the women's football recently. Of
course it wasn't anything like the men's game, but I didn't want
it to be. I enjoyed the fact there was so much more change of
possession from moment to moment. So many more errors in the
game if you like. And the women's rugby is the same. It's a
different game to the men's, but that doesn't mean it has no
appeal. I'm glad we have a women's team, I just wish they could
play at the Stoop when the men's team is playing away.

Forgot to include that, although I do watch from afar (keep up
with scores). Its already a juggle trying to attend all the
games I do now. Would be great if West ham and Quins could
alternate their days!!! Mrs Honkytonk wont be happy with me out
even more (although the milkman, postman, window cleaner etc
       might)!!!!
I try and keep up with the affiliates also, although that can be
       tricky

I'd be happy of I could get to a few West Ham games too. As it
is, I don't get to nearly enough Quins games so that's a no-no!
