At first glance you'd think the expense of relaying the pitch
would be prohibitive. It will be interesting to see what the
attendance is like and how much the tickets are....There are
parallels with our hiring The Big Stoop for a double header too.
They had better relay the grass properly!

To be fair, I think we re-lay the pitch during the off-season
more often than not. It may not be every year, but it certainly
appears to be like 2 out of 3 summers the club tweets out photos
of the pitch being completely stripped out & relaid...

Right well if they were going to lift the pitch anyway the only
extra expense would be laying and removing the hockey pitch
which makes a bit more sense.

And surely GB Hockey will be meeting those costs anyway, as well
as paying us for use of the stadium facilities? I'm sure we are
looking to make money from this partnership rather than
promoting hockey at our own expense!

They did tweet a little while back that they had sold 10,000
tickets. So, its likely to be quite full.
I think that in reality, any attendance over 10k at the Stoop is
pretty good. 12k is about the best for a game day experience.
Sometimes, facilities start to struggle when they get past 14k -
i.e. there are toilet queues and the bars can't cope at all
(although, to be fair, the bars couldn't cope during the
A-League match against Sarries a few months back)

The club's posted a couple of photos of the blue pitch...

Erm. It’s fine. It’s a bit of plastic - and we strip the turf
every year anyway.
