Which is irrelevant because a forward pass isn't judged relative

I've seen plenty of occasions where the lines on the pitch are
used to judge a forward pass. That's when it's easy! (except for
allowing momentum of course!)

Oh dear...
You really don't understand points of reference, do you? When
studying trajectory it is extremely difficult to do so without a
fixed point for reference. The lines on the pitch, whether real
or virtual, are fixed.
