Certainly don’t think recruitment is completed. 1 or 2 others to
trickle in over the summer I expect.

Are you an employee of the Club by any chance ?
There are only 3 or 4 possible contenders for a regular 1st XV
squad place in that list, the rest are A-teamers. If that really
is our business done, then I fear mid/lower-table mediocrity
next season.

I don't feel negative at all about the players coming in , its a
mixture of youth and experience , and as we know players will
often shine when given a bigger stage
Lets remember we all thought ' who the hell is Dombrandt' this
time last year
These guys aren't just random names pulled out of a hat , PG and
his team will have looked at them specially to fit into his
squad , so as far as Im concerned they are all going to be good
signings who are bringing something to the party unless they
prove otherwise on the pitch .

Did you expect that Dombrandt and Murley were safe bets as
starters at the start of last season?

Are you an employee of a different club by any chance? The
signings clearly improve our squad players, which is where we’ve
been lacking hugely. We don’t have an issue with England call
ups anymore, but we need strength on the bench and in rotation.
Our existing squad blew a guaranteed 3rd place with some
defensive and discipline lapses.
One year of recruitment isn’t going to get us anywhere near
Sarries or Chiefs given our appalling failures in recruitment
since 2011.

Good point about Murley , I think in most seasons he would have
nailed 'the best newcomer' category - he was overshadowed by
Dombrant , and had a couple of injuries where he missed a run
of games , but did a great job every time he crossed the
whitewash .

I think Murley is going to be a superstar and will play for
England. He’s only 19 and his strength and confidence is amazing
- and his defensive positioning is not bad already.

He's a handful, a live-wire speedy chap with a penchant for
defence - something our wingers have lacked for sometime.

I think the main area we're lacking, and have been for a good
few years, is that the sum of the team's parts is not great
enough. I think improvement here would have a better
contribution to success than bringing in a few big names,
although big signings will always be much appreciated and make
us better as well.

Precisely - our Premiership team - with only one/two England
players enjoyed the sum being greater than the constituent parts
which held together for a year or so but was never rejuvenated.
Sarries successes and to a lesser extent, Exeters, have been
sustained by a steady drip-feed (rather than a gulp) of talent -
not always from the top shelf - that have seamlessly fitted in
and kept the momentum going while maintaining continuity. That
coupled with an evolution in style to fit the occasion and
refereeing styles/law changes.
