Semi playing on the wing gives us a more powerful option but he
looks much more like a back row forward than a winger. In other
words, it’s another compromise solution when surely we have the
funds now to go out and get a good winger.

A few seasons back Italy put Mauro Bergamasco on the wing. I
think the logic was that he was too good not to have on the
pitch, but the back row was already strong and well balanced.
I think Semi as a winger could be very interesting. Also, let's
not forget Banahan, who always looked like a second row.

Mauro Bergamasco at scrum half against England. Was an absolute
       car crash.

Sinckler played 10 at school. No reason not to try him there at
       this level.

Yes, not his finest hour. But he did OK on the wing.

I'm pretty sure he's never played on the wing. Are you sure it
wasn't his brother Mirco? They look very similar and he used to
       regularly play wing & centre.

I'm certain that Italy picked him on the wing, a few times I
think. I recall his brother, used to be quite feisty, ended up
       being a decent kicker.

Thanks QP, confirms that I'm not losing my marbles. Not on this
       occasion anyway!

Wow. Great bit of rugby trivia! I bet he's the only
international player to have played those three positions
       throughout an international career!
