Don't like Austin Healey. Or Ugo Monye, Stuart Barnes.
Like as commentators, Eddie Butler (mostly), Nick Mullins a real
pro, Jonathan Davies.
Like as pundits, David Flatman, Brian Moore. Guscott is so so.

Brian Moore has stated or several occasions that there is a big
difference between being a co-commentator and the main "play by
play" commentator. He is there to offer insight and analysis
mainly and leaves the main commentary to the pros, who are often
not former players.
Unfortunately a lot of former players think they need to comment
on absolutely everly to justify their position. If there's
nothing worth saying or no comment needed, better to say
nothing.
I do like Flatman generally but he does have a Greenwoodesque
tendency to overhype everything. Probably just a positive person
and I'm being overly negative, buit not every player is a
"rockstar".
Eddie Butler is ok generally but not always the most neutral.
Mullins is great and I like Ekelyn too (spelling?)
Worst ones are Dallaglio and Nicols. Davies is very biassed but
amusingly so

Nick Mullins and Ali Eykyn are definitely two of the best
around. I also like Andrew Cotter.
But yeah, as above, they are all primary commentators - i.e. not
there to provide any particular expert opinion but to describe
the play. As such, they always come across much more even-handed
and unbiased. And as such, less annoying.
As soon as you introduce personal opinion/bias, you're going to
be Marmite. I find some of the secondary commentators and
pundits tread a better line than others. Flatman, Kay, Monye are
sooo much better/more fun to listen to than Davies, Nicol,
Guscott. In other words, the Beeb need to find a new set of
pundits.

For one eyed ness Jonathan Davies and O’Driscoll are a mare. Ugh
has improved this season
