When I read that they're modelling the whole thing on American
sports I figured this was what they had in mind - pump loads of
money into promoting it, have loads of really expensive food on
sale and all the peripheral stuff going on around the actual
sport itself. And use that to vaguely justify hiking prices. I'd
imagine they'll have to lower those prices if they want to sell
       the thing out.
The concept still intrigues me in the sense that I want to see
how the first "audiences" respond to it but it's not something
I'm going to pay a dime to watch.

Sounds awful - I cannot watch 7 s - certainly will not be
       watching this

I hazard to guess that we're not the intended audience.
Ryan has likened RugbyX to Twenty20 cricket. Those who love test
cricket (or 15-a-side rugby) will still have a sport but an
abbreviated more razzmatazz version could attract new fans who
may move on to the more complicated game.

Yeah that’ll help get over the idea it’s a sport for public
       school kids....
Amazing - a sport no one has ever heard of on its debut and they
want up to £80 a ticket. Plus food, drink, transport.
       Delusional.

In the context of RugbyX, the more complicated game is Sevens.

Prices slightly go against the PR blurb that it's all game for
all to enjoy. I'm just a lad from Brentford done good, etc.
I was actually planning to go assuming it'd be £40 or something
but that's just silly. It may do very well and good luck to them
but I think it's slightly taking the mick to charge that much
