Coming back to Snyman for a second...
I'm wondering whether there could be a possible delay on
announcing because of WC squad announcements? I wonder if Quins
and his agent are waiting to see if he gets picked before
dotting i's and crossing t's?If he doesn't get picked, his
contract could presumably include our preseason - whereas if he
does get picked then we're talking about him joining whenever SA
crash out of the WC. Plausible?
Of course there is always the chance that the rumour was just
that and nothing more. Either way, Quins haven't said "no more
signings coming". Nor have they said "more on the way". TORTURE.
I LOVE IT. Yes, I have masochistic tendencies.

We’ve announced de Jäger and just said he’ll be here when he can
(depending on World Cup selection)
So there would appear to be no need to hide his signing for
those reasons.

Irish have picked up Adam Coleman. Although he is far from
perfect, he is an absolute specimen and I suspect a stint in the
prem would help iron out his flaws. I'm hoping our links to
Snyman are why we didn't move for someone like him...
Also sorry for posting in this thread and getting people's hopes
up!

Shame we didn't go for Coleman - he would have been ideal for
us.
Irish are making some impressive signings:
O'Brien
Rona (who I think will be a big hit)
Coleman
Phipps
Naholo
Kepu

Its only a rumour, and nothing has been confirmed but it was
mentioned that Irish are paying Coleman around 8-900k a season.
That is a serious amount of money for him I think.
I think Quins could do a lot worse than take a look at the
Queensland Reds. They have some seriously good young players.
Brad Thorn has taken over as coach, he started coaching their
age groups and helped out with the first team forwards. Then
took over Queensland Country (one of their sides in the NRC) and
lead them to the title. Now the main man at the Reds. Cleared
out all the old players and put his faith in the youngsters he
knew from the age groups (plus a few older heads from outside).
Slowly getting there but they have some real young talent. Very
promising young set of locks in the group.
