RG Snyman expected to sign for quins
   DIR By: Twickersman
       Date: April 25, 2019, 4:00 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Owen Slott reports it in todays Times.
"..The next Springbok likely to join the exodus is the lock RG
Snyman, who made such a dent in the England team on your of
       South Africa last summer.
He is expected to join Harlequins."
What a signing if we can get him, he is a monster and coming
       into his prime.

I always wonder how much these things are true or just rehashing
old rumours to fill column space. Would be great if it was true
       though.

Very exciting if true, but I too wonder if Slot has just
regurgitated old news at that point in the article.

He’s very good - and will be well aware of the announced
signings. Seems unlikely he would just say it based on old
rumour given how long it’s been since it started and club made
       all the signings public.

Hasn’t he been out for a while due to ankle surgery?

Looks like this weekend is his first game back after a long
spell out - he's in the press this week commenting on his
       return:
  HTML https://www.heraldlive.co.za/sport/2019-04-23-rg-snyman-hoping-to-play-himself-into-rugby-world-cup-contention/
He doesn't make any references to where he might be next season,
but I'm definitely reading too much into that.

Well it’s not like us to sign someone who has recently had
       injuries

Understand your cynicism to some extent (and I'm sure you'll be
joined by many on here) but Symons and Crumpton have been two of
our best players this season. So I always think the "they've
been out of the game for ages with injuries, therefore bad
signing" judgement is a bit crude. Snyman has shown, when fit,
that he's a dominant force on the field. Just what we need and
what we've all been crying out for for as long as I can
remember. He'd go through a medical and be subject to all the
stringent tests and data profiling. If he looks good enough to
Gussy then my arms are wide open.

Not to mention that Saili is now everyone's favourite at centre
and they want him to start, when last season and the beginning
of this there were those saying "why did we waste the money
       signing him?"...

Sailli was typical of our bad luck last season. Finally getting
back to fitness, then seemingly minutes into his debut he gets a
horrific concussion that put him out for months.
