Second row shortage holding Quins back ?

Seems to me we never fully replaced the duo of George Robson and
Olly Kohn. We lack grunt and power and our line out is one of
the worst in the league, as shown by the momentum-killing four
first-half lost line-outs against Cleremont.
Are our 3 new 2nd row signings really enough for us to be
competitive, esp with Horwill retiring: Stephan Lewies (Lions)
Toby Freeman (Cornish Pirates)
Glen Young (Newcastle)?
None of these seem to be top class international like other
teams have: Mostert has made a big impact at Glos; Sarries have
Itoje, Kruis, Isiekwe; Sale have just announced the signing of
Lood de Jager, the 6ft9 Int’l South African etc.

When is Horwill retiring - I thought he had another year on his

Announced within the last week or so that he's calling time
early and finishing end of this season.

Maybe you were away for Easter without any newspaper?! 😜
It was all over the press last week that he’s retiring at end of
the season.
A big hole in some ways though he did seem to be injured a lot
of the time :

I wasn't away, but as the sun was out, I played in my new bbq
patio complex and didn't see paper/this site for 5 days!

Not surprised - he's been a walking wounded casualty for the
last few years - but when fit, he's been a real asset - sorry to
see him go.

Owen Slot in today’s Times says Snyman is (still) expected to
join us - would be good if this were straight after World Cup,
or sooner if he doesn’t make the SA squad
