I’m really keen to hear more about his “perceived background”
and what that means.

look at it objectively. He isn't a nasty player, and he rarely
does anything that would count as more than a bit of niggle from
most players. What counts against him is that he's big, he's
very visible, and he's now in a vicious circle that because he
has a reputation for being a hothead, opponents tend to milk it
and refs tend to react to that rather than to what is actually
going on.
>
> The clearest recent example was in the Wales game. He
clattered Anscombe - but the ref and TMO determined that it
wasn't even a penalty (because if they had, Wales would have had
a penalty kick from where the ball landed, which they didn't).
Then he makes what starts as a legal tackle on AWJ, who slips
down in the tackle and then milks it so hard you could hear the
moo from London.
>
> And then the ref talks to Farrell about Kyle - who, let's
remember, has committed one legal blocking tackle and one
penalty that if it had been looked at by the TMO might not even
have been given - and Eddie takes him off. Which coincides with
England losing their grip on the game.
>
> Kyle won't get dropped by England or Quins, because he's far
too valuable a player. Go back and watch the 6 Nations and look
at how many times he's used at first receiver and holds two
defenders for a fraction of a second before throwing a decent
pass out to the space that he has created. I don't think there's
any other player who creates the problems for defences that he
does.
>
> But by the same token, he needs to realise - and realise fast
- that if he isn't on best behaviour he will be singled out by
refs. He needs the mindset that he will get niggle from
opponents, and that if he's getting it, it is because they are
afraid of what the can do, and the best thing he can do is suck
it up, revel in it and respond by doing whatever it takes to
stay on the effing pitch.

Completely agree, Kyle seems to be more valuble for the 50-60
Minutes that he is on the pitch than the few yellow cards he has
had this seasion. He is a great ball carrier and supplemets a
attack amazeingly; and is no slouch in deffence ether.
We stuck by Joe Marler while he was getting into more trouble
then Kyle is now, and look how that turned out .

Look I think getting rid of him is madness but he pleaded guilty
to eye gouging (yes I know he tried to say it was accidental but
the committee found it was intentional) so let’s not pretend
here.....

Contact with the eyes not gouging.

He just needs to cut out the brainfarts. As said elsewhere, he
is not costing us games but he is costing us the chance of
winnings games. He is not playing on the edge, he is being
stupid and giving away daft pens that are killing us. Needs a
good talking to and to take a look at himself.

100% agree.
None of his actions have directly caused us to lose a game
(yet). It’s more that the timing of the penalties/cards have
come at crucial times in games where it’s killed our momentum.

aka gouging. The law doesn't use the word.

True, but we all know what is meant by gouging. Just because the
law doesn't discenr doesn't mean Ashton's was the same as
burger's.

We’ve been through this - endlessly.
There is no offence of gouging.
He was found guilty of intentionally putting his finger into an
opponents eye with a grabbing motion.
Feel free to call it something else but everyone is perfectly
entitled to call it gouging on the basis of the finding.
It’s like saying he didn’t punch someone, his fist just made
contact while moving through the air.

Here’s the explanation to my DMs.
“Battersea

Hardly the most intelligent place in the world if you go by
ofsted ratings”
So there we are, apparently if you’re from a less privileged
background you’re stupid - and that’s also why the schools have
worse Ofsted ratings (presumably than more affluent areas).
