Kyle Sinkler

Having been a massive fan of his, I do think enough is enough
now. He is mentored by Adam Jones (arguably one of the best
tight heads to be have ever played rugby) and continues to dumb
things.
He didn’t cost us the game tonight but did cost us the chance to
win the game. He did something equally as dumb at Sale. Yes he’s
a world class player (and with it comes the associated salary
and inavailability) but I’d rather we moved on from him.
Whatever the conclusion is from a Quins perspective, you can’t
help but think Eddie Jones is now thinking he’s a sub at best
for the WC

As my son put it, “when playing against Quins, every team knows
now to wind up Kyle because he will hand you penalties.”
He is both brilliant and a liability. I want us to keep him
because he can be a joy to watch. I am not sure what the team
has to do to sort him out but it must be worth the time and
money to try and make a success of him.

Excellent player who regularly does stupid things. We stuck by
Marler so should stick by Sink.
I feel his positives outweigh his negatives, so I don't want him
to go anywhere... However, that doesn't make his indiscretions
any less infuriating or moronic.
Needs addressing fast.

Sink did nothing wrong in my book. Their 6 was offside at pretty
much every Quins lineout. He would jump then come down and
stumble round the wrong side and keep going all the way round.
The penalty against Sink in my opinion was wrong. Sink had his
head down and was going to join the maul. As he arrived their 6
was in the way and offside penalty to Quins. Yes Sink tossed him
to the side but the 6 had no business being their in the first
place. I suspect Joe would have done exactly the same thing, and
I wouldn’t blame him either.
Their looseheads were not binding legally either. Watch in the
last scrum penalty against us his bind is pulling Josh down so
much so that Josh decides to break his own bind and try to pull
their looseheads arm up to keep the scrum up but by doing so he
gave away any leaverage and we got pushed back and rolled over.
I think the better team won and I’m pleased with the way the
boys never gave up. I don’t blame the officials for us losing
either.
But I do wish people wouldn’t just bash players, in this case
Kyle, without really watching or perhaps seeing everything that
has gone on.
I will concede the Faf Slap was stupid but again wasn’t the
reason we lost that game.

No one's saying he loses us games but he's an out-of-control
manbaby who needs to sort his attitude and scrummaging out.

Agreed, I remember the early Marler days when almost each game
he played you were guaranteed a good punch up or scuffle. We
stuck by him and should do the same with Kyle. He is still very
young and his talent is raw. Rightly mentioned, it needs fixing
and fast however.

I like his edge and he definitely is world class, his
scrummaging is improving all the time as will his temperament.
Yes he is frustrating and needs to find a cleverer way if
dealing with situations (like their 6 on wrong side). I don’t
think it can be argued that he is part of our strongest front
row and team.

‘Give him a chance’? Really? He has had chance after chance
after chance.
There is absolutely no doubting his ability and he is a key
player for us, particularly in his role as an additional
distributor, but his all to frequent moments of idiocy are
threatening to override all of that.
We keep making excuses for him and I don’t doubt he is often
provoked, but he’s not a kid and he really needs to find a way
of controlling himself.

I agree. It’s very irritating when players are doing the subtle
cheating that the 6 was indulging in yesterday but a) it goes on
all the time and b)doing what Kyle did right in front of the
ref’s nose was completely ridiculous. You’re absolutely right he
needs to be able to find a way of dealing with it without
resorting to the likes of yesterday’s incident.
Quins and England are undoubtedly stronger with him on the
pitch, he’s a quality player that offers something a bit
different on top of good basics. It just worries me that going
into a crucial passage of play like last night he’s going to
undo a lot of what went well with a split second of stupidity.
