It's not really his fault. In his first competitive game of his
first season with us he suffers a horrific freak injury. Then
suffers another. It is bound to hit confidence and form. He
needs a season to prove what he can do. If he cannot stay injury
free or pick up his form by Christmas then I agree to not renew
his contract.

He had an unfortunate accident and has never recovered which has
been clear from every nervy appearance, there’s no time for
sentimentality after a point - he’s getting a good wage!

I would have taken him off earlier, after about 1 minute.

Having a jolly time with De Klerk after the whistle. Shouldn't
annoy me, fraternity of rugby and all, but my god it does after
that performance.

I didn't see much of him before he came to Quins. Anyone else
know what kind/quality of player he looked before the injury?
As I said on the match thread, I just can't see what kind of
player he's supposed to be - he's not big, quick, or powerful,
doesn't have great length on his kicks, or any devil in his
running. I accept form and confidence are down, which might
explain why he stands so deep, and why his passing seems
hesitant and unreliable, but I can't envisage what made us want
to sign him as Snapper's successor. Can anyone who saw the
pre-Quins Cat shed any light?

He was a dead-eye goalkicker and an excellent tactical kicker
who could direct the team around the park.
