Agree with your point DOK, just that as a coach you have a
responsibility to make a system work, if the players aren't
bought in and you cant get the system you want to work then you
address the player issue or the system. That was probably where
JK fell down on the player and managing NE but I think Nick as
defence coach owns it. With the comments some from the team have
made about fitness sure there may be other factors that
contributed but then as defence coach if your system wasn't
working and the fitness of the players was the cause would you
do nothing, ensure fitness was addressed or adapt your system to
fit, none of that seemed to happen, as he only had control of
his system if it was me I'd try to adapt it to what was in front
of me. We seemed to repeat the same stupid mistakes all season
and if the cause was players didn't trust their coach without
giving their all then shame on them.

An excellent player for Quins and for England. His being
overlooked for England was definitely our gain, and he took over
the 8 shirt from Diprose with consummate ease.
Coaching - I don't pretend to know what goes on in there, but
the evidence was on the pitch that things were not as they
should be. And it's the coach who carries the can, in the end.
I'll remember the player longer than the coach, though.

Was a club great as a player, unfortunately the age old curse a
great player doesn't make a great coach struck.
Maybe if he goes away learns his trade he could come back, with
his own thoughts i think the problem
he faced was he was so ingrained in the status quo he wasn't
bringing any new ideas on what to change.
Its a shame in some ways as I'm sure he would learn a lot from
someone like Gustard

Far too early to know if he will be a good coach. Promoted too
quickly in my opinion and trying to coach his peers. Very sad it
has not worked out, just hope he has found a job that will suit
him. I sincerely hope NEV is staying.

Hi! I have no specifics unfortunately but I do remember chat
about great new ideas and innovations early on in his tenure. I
do also remember Minty subsequently saying something along the
lines of having to work hard to get the players doing what he
wanted them to do. Just an impression really.

Complete rock as a player, hardly had a bad moment let alone a
bad game (odd brain fart in the discipline area maybe), great
hands, difficult to bring down, never injured, he was the
inspiration and glue in the champions' team. Boy did we miss him
as a player. Massive shame we can't say the same for him as a
coach - feel hollow.

Nick is Quins legend and a class act in my book. Despite all the
problems of last season I feel sorry he is leaving the club.
Tough call. All the best Minty and I hope one day we shall see
you back at Quins.... just like Codders

All the best Minty. I'll remember you for many things, but most
of all your speech on the steps of the West stand after winning
