Easter - Getting to Clermont - Chartering a Plane
DIR By: brfc_quin

With Clermont winning this evening we will be heading to
Clermont for Easter!
However, the costs of flights (to Lyon) and / or trains from
London are currently in excess of £250 plus.
With this in mind, would the club / Quinssa consider chartering
a plan (maybe two) for the Easter weekend?
Would be great to get as many fans as possible to Clermont!

Very expensive to charter a plane
Have looked at every option , had hotels booked weeks ago ( just
in case) and worked out today it was just too expensive mainly
as it’s Easter weekend.
But if you can get to Paris on the cheap Air France straight to
Clermont, but limited flights available

As has been said before it`s ridiculous playing these games over
the Easter weekend, there is just so little time to arrange
anything and what you can arrange is going to be at a premium
price. Cannot see me getting to this game unfortunately.

If travel is £250 minimum then think sadly I'm out

Is it worth asking the club direct do you think or will Quinssa
look at all the options in their normal excellent way?
The support at Sixways last night was amazing (as it always is
on away European trips) and it would be great if we could do
something special for the semi final.
You could sense after the game (in the bar and chatting to the
players / coaches post match) that something “special” is
happening at the club under the new set up. The letter (“Burn
The Ships”) from Gussy shows how important he views the support
so I’m hoping something can be done to make it possible to
attend the game.

Go by car or bus?
Flying could be a pain and trains are around the same price, if
not more.

Didn’t Quinssa organise a number of coaches to Paris for the 1/4
final / semi final against Stade a few years ago?

Yes Quinssa did coached to Paris
Clermont is around 9 hours by car from London
Same as Beds just the cost etc with fixture not being announced
until Wednesday, it’s going to be very difficult to do anything
for less than £400 as you will need accommodation on top of
travel

Could coach be an option from The Stoop then?
9 hours is a decent slog but could travel overnight (to avoid
the cost of a hotel) and then it’s just the coach to pay for and
one/two nights accommodation?
I think something similar happened at Xmas when we played in
Dublin? Although wasn’t this the sailing trip from hell due to
the rough crossing / weather from hell? 🙈
Anyway, it’s not ideal but it’s all part of the fun of an away
weekend! 🤔 Hopefully the club / Quinssa will work their
magic!
Fingers crossed!
