Parking restrictions

For those who don't live within the immediate locality of the
Stoop, Richmond Council is now consulting on further controlled
parking zones (CPZs) relating to the RFU stadium and there has
also been mention that these will also apply to Quins games as
well. It seems the much increased level of Quins parking in
local streets and roads has resulted in the latter.
The CPZs under discussion appear to affect two areas - a further
expansion of the existing scheme in the Meadway area (so
opposite side of the railway from the Stoop) and also roads
around Whitton Road on the opposite side of the Chertsey Road
from the Stoop
Details are at

I'm not sure of current progress with the former, but the latter
is now being discussed on local Facebook pages ("Whitton
Village" is one) - so probably moving forward.

Well the former came into force in May 2018 and doesn’t include
Meadway.
The latter says results will be announced on April 3.

On the RFU website it says
--- Quote ---

> Q: I am attending the stadium on a non-event day. Where shall
I park?
> A: Parking is available throughout the week outside of major
events, free of charge. There is a short stay car park (up to
two hours) at the South-West corner of the stadium for visitors
to the Rugby Store and Ticket Office.

West car parks. Both are accessible via the entrance at the
North-East corner of the stadium on Rugby Road.

Has anyone used either of these these on a Harlequins match day?

Tried the North once and they didn’t seem to know what we were
talking about. I’d phone the RFU before trying again.

Both the West and North car parks are regularly closed to
prepare for major events at Twickenham stadium. People are
advised to use The Rosebine car park.
I think the RFU would get upset if they thought people were
using their car parks to visit the Stoop.
