Not sure the fact that he can provide cover at full back means
he's seen as the long term cover for Brown. That's something of
a leap of imagination. Good to have the option if required
       though.
Haven't watched and Championship games so no idea what sort of a
player he is but looking forward to seeing what he can do.
       Welcome Brett

Finally another posh player, our fan base have been rattled by
some of the state educated players we've employed recently.

Yup, this. NEv as coach mitigates the "lack of experience"
argument. I like this approach - Marcus will be a much better
player, much earlier than most fly halves. Accelerated
development. When you have talent, use it instead of sheltering
it. Players only learn and get better by having the opportunity
to screw up. And Marcus doesn't really do too much of that
       anyway.

Agree to an extent but Sarries have not won things by playing
guys with potential. Since 2012 I have heard about all the guys
we have with potential and we have won diddly squat. Happy to
have Heron but would have liked to see a more experienced proven
10 come to the club. I also trust Gussie to have signed someone
whom will be more than a journeymen and who will make a
       contribution.

I actually like the fact that this makes Marcus clear first
choice going into next season. He deserves that based on his
performances this season and you'd even have a case to say he's
been one of the most consistent fly halves in the Prem this
season. He compares favourably to pretty much anyone, bar maybe
Cipriani who has been a class above the rest of the field.
Herron has been identified as a guy who can come in and push
Marcus and bring something a bit different - all feels like the
       perfect scenario actually.

It adds to speculation that the Cat is leaving, or that Lang is
not seen as a regular 10.
Or maybe we're stockpiling players who can cover multiple
       positions?

I had no idea - when I became a member (non-playing) back in the
90s one still had to put one's school on the application form.

Truly I missed out on the golden age. Honestly some of them
don't even have a classical education.

It is an interesting point - all white players coming in so far.
Nothing more to my point than that and it's not weighted with
any judgement either way, just an observation...

Hey? I just meant that he went to Wellington. Thankfully rugby
isn't just for public school boys anymore (although oddly the
numbers of privately educated players in england team have gone
up as a percentage after going down for a while) hence I was
surprised to see Wellington on his CV.
