WALES INTERNATIONAL SCOTT BALDWIN SIGNS FOR HARLEQUINS
       Tuesday, 19th March 2019 @ 15:00
HOOKER JOINS LONDON CLUB FROM OSPREYS
Harlequins is delighted to announce that hooker Scott Baldwin
will join the Club for the 2019/20 season.
The Wales international said he was delighted to be joining the
Club after 10 years with Ospreys, where he has made over 120
       appearances.
Baldwin, who has 34 caps for his country, said: “There is
something special going on at Harlequins at the moment and I am
looking forward to starting my Gallagher Premiership career
       there next season.
“I have met with Gussy and the staff at Harlequins and been very
impressed with the winning mentality that they have installed
       there.
The hooker, who was part of the Ospreys’ Pro 14 winning side in
2012, added: “I am going there to win trophies and I know they
have the squad and the mind-set to do it.”
Head of Rugby Paul Gustard said: “Scott is an excellent signing
for the Club. He has had an outstanding career for club and
country so far in Wales and I am very pleased he is joining us
       next season.
“We have followed him in the Pro14 and he has impressed with his
attitude, his humour and all-round technical ability. We know he
will be a great fit and a key member of the squad as we look to
       improve and fulfil our ambitions.
“He is a big man, who excels in the set-piece and is abrasive
both sides of the ball around the field. He will add leadership
qualities to our group and brings a wealth of experience to the
       squad.
“We look forward to welcoming Scott and his young family to the
club and I am sure that not only will he add significant value
to the team but he will also provide us with a useful translator
       for Bomb [Adam Jones]!”

Must say I don't really know much about him as a player. Where
is he in the Welsh pecking order? Obviously he won't be
considered post RWC, but just for reference.
I really hope the "something special" is taking the p...

I think the fact that he is coming to England means he doesn't
think he figures in Gatlands' Wales plans - but he used to play
alongside Adam Jones so the Club has good insight into his
       capabilities
       6 ft 3 in 18 st hooker .. ought to be a good ball carrier . 30
years old 34 wales caps good inspiration and motivation for
       Crumpton and Elia Elia .
       Looks like a solid signing

Well anyone who puts their hand in a lions mouth could be
       described as ‘special’.
Joking aside, I think he’s a very solid signing. Very few
hookers are genuinely good all rounders and I’d favour a guy who
has very solid basics over someone who is more eye-catching in
the loose but can’t throw as well or scrummage.
