Baldwin does the basics properly. That's what I'd like from a
hooker at the moment. Him, Crumpton and Elia would be a good set
to have. Hope RB comes back and is up to his best but he's been
out a very long time.

Assume that as well as Mulchrone and Lewis, Waters will be off
too, given that we haven't recalled him and have brought in
emergency cover. Maybe he'll stay but is currently not being
recalled due to his family issues, but I think his departure
seems more likely. So if we have Care, Landajo and Saunders,
we're a bit light?
Baldwin, Elia, Crumpton and Musk seems enough.
Cheeseman is an interesting one. Unlike with Waters, I don't
think the fact he's gone out on loan is necessarily a bad sign
for him, just that we have a lot of competition at centre and
have had very few injuries there. Still, with Campagnaro joining
and with Land able to play 12, it's hard to see where his
apportunities will come, so I assume he and Lasike will be off.
Whos is the other players we got in as injury cover? Was it
Kunatani?

Bizarre comment. I'm just highlighting that it seems Gussy might
be on task in terms of recruitment and knows that we need to
fill the 2 shirt.
But no, maybe Gussy has just read your demand for hookers and is
now out hunting for one - but up until now wasn't aware he
needed one...
(And prepare for hooker innuendos in 3, 2, 1...)

13 is definitely his primary position but he has played 11 for
both Wasps and Italy a fair few times. He's also covered at 12.

Apparently Baldwin was signed as a 1st/2nd choice while Crumpton
continues to develop with the idea that he will become our solid
1st choice in the next few seasons. Baldwin is 31/32 I think, so
this will probably be one of his last contracts before
retirement.

He's 30 but I take your point. I wouldn't be completely averse
to him joining and I can totally see the logic behind his
signature but I can't help thinking there must be more impactful
hookers out there (who can also throw and scrummage). But maybe
my expectations are way out.

It just seems a bit stupid signing a scrum half of landajo
quality with 80+ international caps to sit on the bench and take
up the salary cap.
Why are we not using the salary budget to sign a international
hooker to start with 80+ international caps...
for me the landajo signing suggests care will leave after his
two year contract and landajo is actually the future long term
first choice, with care will helping him settle in for a year
after the World Cup and going to France to make some big money.
