The "officiating" did no wrong!
Quins got slapped and you don't like it, so who can you blame !?

Not sure why we didn't get a penalty try and the second penalty
against us for a deliberate knock on was harsh I thought.
Otherwise no complaints about the officiating.

Then lets change the laws so that OFFSIDE only exists in the 5
meters by the try line. Allow players to run for the ball when
they are well infront of the kicker. Allow teams to close the
line at the line out. YES - I'M WITH YOU ON ALL OF THAT. Or we
can have consistency with officiating. I don't mind but lets
have it in black and white and across the board.

Players make shed loads of mistakes in a match. I'm always
surprised by the people who insist referees don't.
That said, Barnes performance this time was like Barnes
performance last time like his performance before that...and so
ad infinitum. His assessor will know whether it was good or bad,
not sure we do. We've got to produce a performance where his
existence is not a factor in the final outcome.

Actually you’re right - it’s just a shame there’s a TMO for
those when everyone knows it’s a try (yes yes I know sometimes
they aren’t ...)

Barnes wasn't outstanding today but did let an attractive game
flow without trying to impose himself on events.
If you had Ref-link you would have heard him constantly talking
to the players, explaining decisions and encouraging each scrum
with instructions like 'keep high' [once set] and 'good
pre-scrum'. He was also in constant communication with his touch
judges and TMO asking for feedback on incidents.
No ref seems to cope with line-outs and scrum put-ins but assume
they are all working to orders from on high.
What I don't understand are the reffing inconsistencies with
'high' tackles and 'deliberate knock-ons'.

Quins were awful. No defensive line, no tackling, no spirit.
Barnes was fine, no issues.

Barnes didn't influence the outcome of the game. He was
consistent to both teams. Sometimes you just have to give credit
to the better team. Glos were incisive and clinical in attack
orchestrated by Cipriani. Our porous midfield defence couldn't
cope with his lines of running and passing.

Spot on Bolly, as someone said “ We did OK for the first 8
minutes, and that was it”
