Why dont we go back to being 5 Nations? Italy just havent
evolved as hoped. It would help the Calender with potentially
having a 4 week 5 Nations period? Just a thought.

Never been a CoS fan - so admit to being biased in replying to
this thread.
CoS is an administrator rather than a coach. He does have some
good tactical tricks, which certainly helped win the premiership
with Quins and give England a fright.
Trouble with that is at top national and international level
your tactics are quickly rumbled. So, as with Irish and Quins,
Italy started with promise but have fallen away ever since.
And yes - Italy would have been far more competitive if they had
been coached by Gatland & Edwards.

I see COS as a bit of an idealist. Persisting in certain ways
when it’s clear they’ve stopped working. Not enough of the
pragmatist about him to be a top top coach IMO.

Spot on Tarquin.
To finish your sentence ....... 'to being the Ireland DoR'.
Absolutely nothing wrong with ambition - just the way it is
achieved.
Neither, London Irish, Quins or Italy were/will be in a better
position after his departure.

Can't see Ireland wanting him for the top job.

Quins post-COs = former champions
Quins pre-COS = not former champions.
We had a few good seasons with COS. Let's not write him off
completely.

Woodward has become the embarrassing uncle who says something
borderline racist at Xmas dinner.
