Some people have said Italy have improved under him but nothing
has changed.

COS and Mike Catt didn't look too happy whilst walking down
towards to tunnel. Couple of players where arguing on the bench,
clearly something wrong.

He's got a very wide remit at Italian rugby. It isn't just about
the national side. He is responsible for overall development of
the game there. You have seen how Benetton are doing?

Sorry but IMHO that's unfettered cobblers. You can be the best
coach in the business but saddled with a team like Italy you'll
struggle to succeed. Sadly I think the time has come for
promotion and relegation between the 6N and Tier 2 competition
to be instigated; Itealy came into the top tier in 2000 with the
clear objective of growing and becoming competitive. That may
have happened at club / Pro 14 level, but clearly the
international side is no further down the track than it was 19
years ago. It's time to stop flogging this expired nag.

Nothing sad about it I agree about promotion and relegstion. The
best Italy have managed is 4th about 4 years ago and have been
5th or 6th since.
It wont happen though because of the amount of investment gone
into Italian rugby, 2 clubs in pro 14 so their players have the
experience while Georgia are not overly exposed to first rate
club rugby beyond the challenge cup so will be even more of a
walk over than Italy currently are.
Plus I cannot see the sponsors and corporate prigs willingly
swap Rome for Tbilisi!

Conor O'Shea is a great coach, just look at how he drove the
harlequins ... here in Italy who is born big or big, goes to do
other sports, like volleyball or basketball .... with a team
like that, not even the New Zealand coach would be able to make
good results. In Italy apart from some regions, rugby is
non-existent, without a base, it is difficult to build top 14
teams, let alone a national team. On the fact of Giorgia, as
someone wrote, I do not know how many sponsors or people would
be happy to go to Georgia instead of Rome.......

Georgia may be ranked higher than Italy but mainly because they
win more against easier teams. I'm the most recent have between
the 2 Italy comfortably breast them. I suspect they would be
even more of a walk over than Italy.
