       Scrum Half Loan Signing
   DIR By: Cookie

       ---------------------------------------------------------
Harlequins has signed Scrum-half Luke Baldwin from Worcester
       Warriors on a short-term loan.
Baldwin (28), a former Saracens and Bristol Bears player, has
joined following recent injuries to Danny Care and Charlie
       Mulchrone.
Head of Rugby Paul Gustard said: “I am delighted Balders has
joined us. He will strengthen an area where we currently have a
few injuries and lack of availability. To secure Luke in this
period is a real positive step for us.
“I am very thankful for Alan Solomons and Worcester Warriors for
allowing Luke to join us and I appreciate the work Head of
Recruitment Ed Spokes has done over the last two days to get
this sorted after our victory in Bath.
“Luke is a quick, running nine who has a strong core skill-set
which I am sure our supporters will look forward to seeing.
Having coached him for many years previously I know he is a very
likeable lad who will add great value off the field and will
also offer us a genuine contender in any Ron Weasley look-a-like
       competition.”
Baldwin said: ''I am delighted to be joining Harlequins and look
forward to helping them during this excellent season they are
       having.
"I have an enormous amount of respect for Gussy and the work he
is doing at the Club and I can't wait to get started."

Ohhh no! I was seriously hoping DC would be back for Gloucester
with Mulchrone out, the fear of having to start Lewis makes me
       cringe

       Love the Ron Weasley comment.
Who is the best Quins lookalike? I know that Big Chis does a
       good Sean Dyche.

Why don't we just recall Waters who's on loan?

Yup. Bit gutted Waters wasn't the go-to. But hey, maybe this guy
       is good. Anyone know?
       What's Saunders' current injury status?

He's started 4 prem games in an 8-year career, which isn't
exactly a ringing endoresement from the coaches he's played
under. That said, we've had some success in recent years with
our under-the-radar signings so am interested to see how he'll
       go.

Shame that the injuries to Danny & Charlie are bad enough to
warrant needing to bring in a loan. I'm surprised Worcester were
willing to let Baldwin out given their current place in the
       table.
At least Gussy knows him from his time at Sarries, and obviously
thinks he's a reasonable stop-gap. In Gussy we trust!

I thought Care may be out longer term when I saw Gustard's head
in his hands after Mulchrone's injury!
As for recalling Waters - I expect there's a good reason for
that, and it's probably quite obvious!

Ah. Well at least I know where my expectations should be for
Sunday. Let's hope the forwards have a stormer with our current
       options at 9!
I disagree that Lewis played well against Bath. He did randomly
do a couple of very good things at crucial times though. So hey,
       here's hoping...
