We are mentioned as having possible interest in Danny Cipriani
if he decides to leave Gloucester.

Incredible and a bit unbelievable! In any case, I am really
happy with Marcus as our first choice fly-half. He is getting
       better every month.

Interestingly the article thinks that the Cat is under contract
       for next season.

He might be under contract but I am not sure I can see him
staying. He has been linked with a move to Japan, cant remember
       the side.

Yeah, this just reads as absolute speculation. Especially as
we're supposed to have done a deal for Brett Herron already.
Interesting what it says about Catrakilis leaving being "very
unlikely" - does he have another year on his contract? I thought
his was up at the end of this season...
I'm in two minds about whether I would want him but mostly agree
with Comet. Think Cipriani joining at this point would actually
be detrimental to Marcus' development. I wouldn't have said the
       same thing a season ago.
Then again, would you really pass up on the opportunity of
Cipriani supplying ball to our back line?!

I would take him for a season in a heartbeat ... imagine what
Smith and Lang would gain from Evans and Cipriani . Marcus has
got at least a dozen seasons ahead of himself and who knows
Cips could find himself as International cover in 2020 !..

A season would make the most sense if we do go for him...

Re Herron, Apparently he also plays centre, so it could be we
see him as a bit of a bits and pieces back up, able to cover a
       couple of positions.

If he is looking for a big money move i agree one season on the
books would be enough, especially since he wont be our marquee
player and would be pushing us quickly towards the cap.

I also wouldn't want him joining to affect our other recruitment
priorities (which it presumably would given his wage bracket and
the fact that we spend up to the cap). Which is another reason
why I see this being an unlikely story. Billy and Gussy's
recruitment planning for players leaving/arriving during this
off-season feels like it was wrapped up weeks/months ago. So if
they're now scrabbling around seeing which incomings they want
to cancel talks with I'm not sure that's such a great thing.
Would either mean a big or big-ish name no longer coming (e.g.
Snyman, Landajo, Baldwin of the names we've been linked to) or 2
of the lesser names no longer joining - either way, this limits
       our strength-in-depth in other areas.
I really haven't felt like we've lacked direction at 10 for most
of this season and we've only had 2/3 fly halves available for
90% of it. Marcus has been outstanding - NEv is doing wonders
with him. Smith and Lang are young but offer different strengths
to each other and are natural foils for each other. Cipriani is
an unbelievable player but I just feel we'd lose out in another
area of the field if we do go for him - and it's likely that
would be in an area we are already struggling.
Having said that, if money is somehow not an issue and we've got
an absolute wad sitting to one side for a rainy day then let it
       pour.
