'Opa' is good - Greek style tapas for food, as is 'Sotto Sotto'
- Italian (my favourite Italian restaurant outside of London)
however you will do well to get a table booked!
Drinking wise there are an abundance of pubs around the cobbled
streets which are excellent - you wont go lacking there. if you
are a fan of gin go to The Canary Gin Bar!
Enjoy - it is a superb city!

Gem is indeed a very good ale.

Ok, since no one else has, and the thread demands it -- my main
recommendation for bath eating and drinking is avoid anything
too absorbent. Think Hob Nob rather than Rich Tea.

The Herd steak restaurant. Lovely in there, great wine and the
steaks are fantastic. Exit the rec by the river, turn right and
it's under the bridge on the right!

Pubs I like - The Volunteer Rifleman (New Bond St Place; it
does get a bit crowded after the game); The Old Green Tree
(Green St; same and with good selection of ales/ciders); The
Rsing Sun, a good stop on the way to: The Opium Bar (just off
Grove St - cocktails etc) and for a bit of old Bath, try the
Bell Inn (Walcot St - large cavernous, live music on Fridays,
Natch cider and pizzas) and close to the ground I usually go to
the Alehouse (N. Parade, opposite the Abbey) - simple, decent
beer and close to the ground.
Still yet to find a good Indian there - change too much, but I
did enjoy Thai Kun (Newark St) last time I was there.

When you have made the quick comment, you can change it provided
you do that immediately, but once you go away from the page
there's no way I know of undoing it.
