Oddly he was better than Mulchrone - who had a shocker with the

This thread proves to me that some people are never happy.
Bristol scored 2 early tries by 15 Mins. We then didn’t concede
a single point for 50 minutes - with some excellent defence.
Their third try was a scrappy breakaway and they scored with an
excellent try with the last play of the game when the game was
over as a contest.
We had a BP by half time again. We were missing some key
players. Some expressed concern before the game that we may
struggle. However we never looked like losing the game.
We have another 5 points. We are 8 points clear of 5th! We are
9 points clear of 7th. All in a season when some described us as
relegation candidates.
Unbelievable.
Well played Quins. Another very good win. Here’s hoping for a
win on the road next week.

And we were able to give smith and Marler a rest after 50 Mins.
We didn’t lose a single line out on our own throw (despite the
understandable concerns pre match).
The squad rotation from Gussie is brilliant at keeping the squad
fresh. The fact we can do it when we have BPs wrapped up is
great, albeit it the vast number of changes is probably
contributing to some of the points conceded.
Newcastle away, Worcester and Bristol - 5 points safe by HT.
Very short memories of last year. ???

Well said! They had loads of possession, which was difficult to
cope with, but we were always in control, once we had scored our
try.
I am looking forward to seeing how are game evolves with ball in
hand. We have great players who can be trusted to open up and be
expansive.
A good win today. Well done boys. I am looking forward to my
first match at The Rec next week!

I agree. Also, Glynn played well and I thought Elia was very
good.
As mentioned above, their first try was extremely questionable.
I can't see how it couldn't have been a knock on.
In general, it's starting to feel like 2012 again (not tempting
fate). The team are playing with confidence, and things seem to
be coming off when we try them. We now have the bonus of some
strength in depth, and they even look like they're enjoying
playing. Long may it continue.

“Unbelievable”.
Sure it’s impossible for anyone to hold a view other than one’s
own right?
Or worse still hold a nuanced view where we’re delighted to win
but have watched two poor defensive performances in a row
against the bottom two teams in the league,
But sure - we’ll all just say how amazing it is because then the
world will be a great place.
Come on.

It’s nonsense to suggest that today was a poor defensive
performance. Their first try was highly questionable and their
second was well worked. After that, we didn’t concede a single
point for 50 minutes (scoring 21 ourselves). During that period,
we made several key turnovers in our own 22 and near our own try
line. Our tackling was generally very good.
They then scored a third try from a counter from a poor kick
(which left us wide open) and they scored with a training ground
line out play - which was very good - with the last attacking
play of the match.
Part of the reason we have conceded so many tries in the last 2
games is because of how well we have done to open up big leads.
It has meant our opponents have had nothing to lose and they
have reverted to high risk expansive rugby, which is much harder
to defend (albeit it leaves them exposed for us to score more
points). Had the games been closer, they are unlikely to have
done this.
If you genuinely think that - first 15 minutes aside - that was
a poor defensive performance today, then we must have watched
different games. Alternatively, you made the original post after
15 mins and refuse to acknowledge it was premature.
