Harlequins' Crumpton cited for incident

Crumpton cited for incident against Worcester
Hearing to take place on Wednesday
Max Crumpton of Harlequins is due to appear before an
independent disciplinary panel for an alleged punch or striking
of an opponent.
Crumpton was cited by independent citing commissioner Paul Burke
following the match Harlequins v Worcester Warriors on Saturday
16 February 2019. This was for allegedly punching or striking
Worcester Warriors' GJ Van Velve contrary to Law 9.12. The
incident occurred in the first half of the match.
The hearing will take place in London on Wednesday 20 February
2019 at 1900. The panel will be chaired by Sean Enright with
Becky Essex and Paula Carter.

Was that after the incident with Care??? I am sure Crumpton was
close by and seemed to be the one pointing out to the ref.
Think it was in the commotion after that. Good on him.

Fair point. Would be bad news. But I am still sure that it was
a snidey move by the Worcs 4 and he should have been called up
on it. It wasn't even Van Velve that done Care, so Crumpton
clumped the wrong bloke.

Don’t think it was after that incident as it was too early. Just
have to wait and see, nothing was pulled up during the game so
couldn’t be that bad. Hopefully it’s just a slap on the wrist or
a minimum ban.

Think I caught a glimpse of the very last split second of the
incident from my seat at the front of block AD, east stand - it
happened right in front of me near our 22. He definitely swung.
And I think he (just about) connected. I thought at the time
that it didn't look good...
