Totally agree, but you just have to be able not to do it.

Pretty stupid thing to do - but having watched the replay I have
a fair amount of sympathy for him - he tries 2 or 3 times to get
away from the guy holding on to him.

That looks a bit close to the head and that's what the ref said.
If so it's automatic high end entry point - 12+ weeks.

Meh. It's not that bad. more of a push than a stamp. Silly boy
though.

I've watched it now and I have some sympathy for him, as he's
clearly trying to free himself rather than a malicious stamp for
no reason purely intended to inflict pain. Still, you just can't
react like that, and especially so near to the head. Arg player
should have got a yellow too though. Not sure what discretion
the citing panel have

Rugby authorities don't really see retaliation to other foul
play as mitigation; quite the opposite. Silly thing to do and
will cost him/us multiple weeks. Pushing and hammering arms with
a fist are pretty accepted. This was stupid.
That said, with league rugby back, it's unlikely he would get
much game time anyway.

Can't excuse it even though he was being held well away from the
play and it wasnt intended to do any damage.. Someone above
said that the player holding him should have received a yellow
which I agree with.
