I saw the group in the distance and walked up to meet them.
"Hey guys! I was off gathering herbs, feverfew in particular.
Anything you guys have to fill me in on? Any news about the war?
Are my talents needed anywhere?"

The quiet chatter of the two visitors was background noise as a
low buzz filled my head, the magic in the rune at a certain
pitch and tone which indicated intention. Which, as far as I
could tell, was completely innocent. A simple mix up of runes,
the previous enchanter wanted to place an impervious rune. I
wrote notes on the parchment by me, small things like what
"sound" the magic of the enchanter made.
"Alright, I've got it. Whoever enchanted this mixed up their
runes. Loyalty looks awfully close to Imperviousness. I can
modify it for you. It'll only take a few seconds." I looked up
and found my organized mess completely cleaned up and blinked.
"Oh. Thank you."

No one answered leaving me to wonder if I had even said it
aloud...
Lovely.
"Well... If anyone needs me I'll be be heading to the shadow or
midnight sector to tend to the recently injured."
To be honest most of these warriors gave me the shivers
especially the one with the fans. I'd heard stories... but that
wasn't the point. The job of the healer is to mend wounds, not
to spread gossip.

((I'm terrible at both first and third so it doesn't matter to
me))
I raised a hand to cover the one Celes placed on my shoulder.
"You know as well as I do that the only way this war will end is
if the goddess returns. You also know how much you mean to me."
I turned to face Celes and took her hand in both of mine. Unable
to look her in the eye, I raised our hands to my lips and
whispered, "And if I ever had to make the choice between you and
the kingdom, goddess strike me down, it would always be you."
A flicker of movement caught my eye: Stablemaster Misty hurrying
away from us, haphazardly twirling her sword. Had she heard? It
didn't seem like she had, but that statement alone could incite
a full rebellion if it reached the wrong ears. Crushing the
growing sense of paranoia, I looked up at my Wild Rose and
asked, "I'd like to see how our kingdom is faring for myself.
Would you like to accompany me into town today?" If Celes had
been restless enough to leave her room, it was unlikely she'd
follow the healer's orders and stay there if returned.
((*whispers* Do you have any idea how close I came to saying "I
choose you"))

The voice of the enchanter distracted me from talking to Agrina
for a moment. "No problem, though Agrina was the one that did
the most. She got here before me," I said, then hesitated before
continuing. "Do you know any enchantments that increase fire
magic? I've been training with fire for the past few days, but
it doesn't feel like I'm getting enough flames."
Holding my hand open, a flame flickered there for a moment, but
it was small, and I quickly dismissed it. "I've been meaning to
get some sort of weapon, like a sword, and I'm going to use my
magic to cover it in fire, but I don't know the enchantment for
it."

I took in a long breath. The polluted air had now passed and
wearing my mask was no longer a necessity. The midnight sector
had lost a fierce battle, but now I could see the shadow sector,
oh so ready to take over what once was. I let out a sigh. This
would be my last patrol in the sector before it'd be demolished
and built over by the Shadow. To think that this place could be
turned into something like that no good Shadow sector. I'd
rather it live on in ruins. But, now was no time to complain. My
patrol time has come to an end.
((I'm going to leave it at that and post again when I see an
interaction opening. Also, DO YOU GUYS KNOW HOW HARD IT WAS TO
KEEP THIS SHORT!?!???!!))

"Thank you." I say, giving a slight nod of the head. "I've
heard you don't ask for payment, so instead I'd like to give
you a little something I found in my free time." I notice a
small net curling the sides of the tower. I quickly take out a
pouch and lay it on the newly cleaned table. "Here," I say
before either of them can respond. "And thank you, Shaheiro." I
toss her a sheathed katana engraved with a few runes. She
instinctively catches it. " Well, goodbye, then." I vault over
the stair railings. I was NOT going to risk the death of my legs
to walk down those stairs. I swoop down towards the net.
Falling without a protector. Awesome! I thought, as I fell.
...
Unknown to either of them, a small tag hung on the sheath of
the katana. meet me in the palace soldiers' training room. 1:00.
don't be late.

I caught the katana, but it was a bit of a clumsy catch.
Inspecting the runes engraved on it, I perked up and took out a
book that was previously in my bag. "Aha! That's a fire rune. I
must've forgotten that I had this book," I said, grinning. Then
I waved at the enchanter. "Have a nice day!" I called, then
leapt down the way Agrina had went, holding on to the sword
tightly. If I ever saw Agrina again, I would thank her.
Unfortunately, I missed the net by a long shot, but that didn't
matter. I quickly cast a blink spell, which sent me to the
ground immediately. Peacock glided down beside me, landing much
more gracefully than I had. Once we began walking away from the
tower, I unsheathed the sword and studied the runes for a moment
more. They were unfamiliar to me, except for the fire rune. The
nocturne nudged the hand that held the sheath, and I looked at
it. "What's this?" I muttered, reading the note. It seems that I
would be seeing Agrina sooner than I thought. With a small sigh,
as I had wanted to continue practicing with fire, I glanced up
at the clock tower. It was almost twelve.
After getting a bite to eat, I looked at the clock tower again
as I walked by. Peacock squawked, earning some annoyed looks
from people walking by, as we both noticed it was almost one.
"Ack," I said. "I'm always late to everything." We both sprinted
off to the training room, and arrived just before the tower
chimed at one. I panted and stood outside the door for a moment
before walking in, still holding on to the katana.

I was using a metal pipe rod against a trainer, who was using a
normal sword. I disarmed him, then bonked his head with the
pipe. He crumpled to the floor. I checked my watch. Almost..
almost.. There! Shaheiro was standing in the corner. I welcomed
her and then said, "I am a weapons trainer, otherwise known as
an assassin. I need more practice on magic users, plus you'll
probably need to take sides in the new battle, so.. Why not
have a duel?" I asked, eyes glinting with mischief. "There are
weapons in that corner," I indicated the corner. "The katana I
gave you is a elementals' usual weapon. An old colleague of mine
gave it to me. There are basic runes of protection on it as
well. But I- I will be using this. Don't laugh!" I cautioned. I
held up an odd looking pen. "Well, perhaps the pen may be
mightier than the sword. Who knows?"

I walked forward, glancing around the room. When Agrina
presented the pen, I raised an eyebrow. "Why would I laugh? That
thing is probably enchanted," I said. Peacock crept forward,
eyeing the trainer that was laying unconscious. I patted his
head, reassuring him.
"Anyways, a duel?" I questioned, then rubbed the back of my neck
awkwardly. "My spells aren't really for duels, they're more...
for mass destruction, I guess." I shrugged. "Mob control.
Something like that. I have a few close range spells, though."
The nocturne looked up at me, a worried expression on his face.
"And what do you mean by 'practice?' Would it be practice if I
won?" A challenging smirk appeared on my face. "I only have one
request - that we duel outside. I don't want to burn down the
building."
