"Oh, hello!" I said, glancing over at the newest person to the
top floor. I watched Borea do a quick cartwheel in the air when
he saw the Nocturne then quickly looked back down at the rune I
was sifting through. "I'll be with you as soon as I can, if
you'll just give me another...ah perhaps twenty minutes?" I
twisted the next layer off to see under it. "Also, don't touch
anything that glows," I repeated absently.

Arcus, however, insisted on going back to the nest, so I
"decided" to just head there instead and complete what I had
MEANT to do yesterday (and quickly, in case the Head of Cavalry
beat me there). I dismounted at the tree and slowly ascended the
branches, and when I got to the right branch an unusually small
dragonet hopped out of the nest and followed me while I went
down, under a meter long. Not a Fae, but she was evidently small
enough to maybe enter the castle. And if she grew past the size
of a horse (I wasn't very good with dragons) well, then, she'd
still have fit into one of the many empty stalls. Then again,
she'd probably stop following me pretty quickly.
(Skydancers are relatively small anyway, and while I haven't yet
exactly explained why, my dragonsona's a) unusually small (like
me) and b) she shrank when she joined the faerie ring. if this
is not okay tell meh and I will delete the post and pick a
random fae)

I passed Celes and Wolf returning from the blacksmith,
carelessly swinging my sword. (I fail to think sometimes) But
the instant I saw the Queen and Princess Consort I put it away,
hastily bowed, and sped through the room. It was about time to
battle for the dominance of blue. I just had to grab Arcus and
ready for sniping. Also dragonhunting tomorrow, but that didn't
actually seem all that close right now. "To battle!" I muttered,
speeding into a run.
(I feel like I should become more of my usual random idiocy rn)

(It's like, "It's a heartwarming moment here! Why the heck did
you have to do that?!" sort of thing that you did lol. )

((I deleted mine - there was only one, I think XD))
I waved at the enchanter. "That's fine, I can wait," I said,
then noticed the other person was cleaning things up. Deciding I
should help, I hesitantly levitated myself up a few feet, then
started clearing the cobwebs above with a magic broom - one of
my personal and favorite spells. Peacock gazed up at me
curiously, then clambered up the wall and ate any spiders
unfortunate enough to run from their hiding places.

I looked up in surprise. This person seemed familiar. Oh yes,
I remember. I had seen them before in the corridors of the
palace. She had brushed past me, an iron staff in her hands.
Add that to her floating broom and ta da! Yes, she was
definitely a mage. I pursed my lips and started cleaning the
last table. Five more minutes until Tim was done. "What's your
name? My name is Agrina." I awkwardly tried to break the
silence. I had no love for mages, nor magic users, but it
seemed all right to know their name.

Almost falling down, I was startled when someone spoke. I let
myself down and brushed myself off. "Sorry about that. I'm
Shaheiro, though you can call me Sha. It's nice to meet you,
Agrina," I said with a smile, then glanced up at Peacock, who
was still devouring spiders along the walls. He blinked once at
me, then continued his search for snacks. "What did you come
here for?"
Answering my own question, I saw the fan that the enchanter was
inspecting. "Ah, some runes on a weapon that the blacksmith made
you? I heard that whoever enchants the runes isn't well known in
these parts, and might be working for one of the opposing
factions, or a spy, yadda yadda yadda." I shrugged. "Those are
just rumors that I heard in the markets, though. Nothing much,
if you ask me." I finished just as the nocturne crawled down
from the wall and licked his chops, then sat down next to me, a
pleased look on his face.
((I wasn't holding a staff, by the way. Mages don't need any
weapons, in my opinion, but if I had one, it'd be a short sword
(or two) and a spell tome. c:))

"Oh, I don't listen to those rumors. I have a theory of my own,
which is that the silversmith usually creates those runes,
because that silversmith usually makes her own silver and gold
mage staffs." I respond.
(I'm still sticking to mage staffs, and if you read the
comments thread then you'll know why.)

"She does?" I ask, then sighed. "Oh, yeah, of course she does. I
never go over there... Peacock, don't eat that!" I ended my
statement with a snap at the nocturne, who was just about to eat
a glowing mushroom. He slowly set it down and trudged out the
door, sitting down outside it. I shook my head wearily. "I'd
rather use a sword. Actually, I'd rather be a warrior, but they
didn't accept me." I frowned at the memory. "But I showed them,
and rose to their level. Anyways, what's your job? Since you
already know I'm a mage, I'd like to know what you do."

The sea breeze, like always, kept my nerves calm. Even after
over a year of war and needless death, it was easy to push it
all aside when faced with the immensity of the ocean. I'd always
found it humbling to stare at something so vast and powerful and
frequently thought of the sea as my home. Likely, I spent more
time offshore than I did on, but I was hardly bothered. My crew
were well behaved and made good company, even if they were a
little rowdy.
While there were many ships working for Queen Wolf, the one I
used for my own free will was far less martial. In battle, I
used the more tough ships with hulls that could break lesser
boats, but thankfully there was a lull in the bloodshed. One of
the other colours had won, so things were peaceful. Until the
next few colours began to spit venom at each other.
With a sigh, I pushed myself up from where I sat on the docks,
feet dangling over the dark water. I had planning to do in order
to ready my men and women for the next few battles. We didn't
get much resistance in the ocean, but it was important to rid
the seas of any renegade ships before they did damage. Ours was
a mighty force, and I would not tolerate enemy fire on the
queen's people.
((You know what's funny? I have severe motion sickness and that
didn't occur to me until now. lol I hate boats, heh.))
