Tuir stepped out in front of the waiting crowd, the subsidy
population all murmuring and whispering to one another as they
waited. His aides had already set up the large banner to hang
over his stage, and the microphone sat there, begging him
forwards. He strode out in the tight, starched uniform of a
Firebrand Commander. He cleared his throat well back from the
mic and then stepped towards it, a hushed silence falling.
"People of the Firebrand Corporation! Today we christen our new
home, one of forward ambition and success, one of minerals and
glory, one of denying those who would stop our glorious trade -
and to open new routes into territory as yet unexplored. Strange
people lay to the east, who seem to grow crops from the earth
like simpletons," Tuir paused, letting the crowd's laughter
fade, "and yet they will help us achieve our goals, as we share
in mutual trade and slowly bring them into the great family we
have made."
Tuir stepped away from the mic, letting his booming voice carry
across the crowd. The real mic, however, was of course in his
lapel, "And therefore you shall carry us forth into this new
age, Citizens! I, Commander Tuir, want each and every last one
of you out there, mining up those goods that will launch us to
glory. For the Firebrand! Gold through Fire! Strike the Earth!"
A great cheering wave swept over the crowd. Halifax watched in
disgust.
The Firebrand will be taking the Income and Buy Assets actions.
The Firebrand will also extend an offer of Research Sharing to
the Republic of Unislan.
The Firebrand will also extend an offer of an Alliance to the
Republic of Unislan. This comes with the caveat of accepting
both offers of Research and Alliance, or neither.

The whip fell heavy on the mans back, his hands red and veined
from his hard grip on the pole. The crowd watched on, it was not
often the man paid his penance on stage for all to see. The man
grunted as the whip fell again, his face flushed with pain or
pleasure they did not know. After the final whip, the man
cleaned himself up and returned to the table set off to the side
of the towns courtyard. There was planning to be done.

Calden leaned back in his chair. The General was trusting him to
see to the numbers, after all, war isn't cheap but the income
just wasn't as it should be. He had run them several times and
even consulted with Holden Mustang. They were not doing well. He
needed more time to boost the economy, luckily, the General had
agreed.

Oscar Lloyd was incredibly disappointed in his failure to
successfully research what the Governor had assigned for him.
Rekt had ensured him it was not an issue, but she was copping an
earful from Treasurer Oldman about her squandering of resources.
Rekt had a new plan, however.
Captain Yves Dalziel hadn't been given an assignment in some
time. Suddenly his radio was on, and he was once again on the
move.
Jemima Helsaya sent out a message to the Firebrand Corporation;
"We greatly appreciate your offer to aide us with research, and
we will greatly consider it. However we are not in desperate
need of such assistance at this time, and we are not quite yet
willing to be tied down into an alliance. We do wish to continue
to collaborate and co-operate, but at this time that particular
deal is not in our best interests.
The Republic of Unislan will be taking the Move Assets and
Research actions

The rich gunpowder and charge crystals of the mines rolled past
on the conveyor belt. Chief Draut strode alongside, smiling as
his Strikers struck deeper into these rich lands with explosives
and heavy machinery. In the distance, obscured by the smoke and
dust of constant explosions sat Gladius, a dark city that the
subsidies had avoided while taking what they need.
The belt rolled onwards, all the way into a Foundation facility
inside of the new town. The buildings of the town were still
simply pieces of the original colony ship cannibalized and
turned into a full town. Inside of the Foundation facility, the
rich ore and powder was being sorted, but the Foundation Foreman
Cora watched her workers as they lit their torches and worked on
a large frame. Back home, her leader was doing the exact same
thing.
The Firebrand would reach true glory.
The Firebrand will be taking the Income and Buy Assets actions.
