       Standard Evocation Ritual

       Standard Evocation Ritual
This ritual can be performed at night or in the morning. it all
depends on the God you are trying to communicate with, if he/she
is day being then it is best to perform it in a day, if night
then it should be performed at night. These are times of day
       when their accessibility is HIGHEST.
This is a ritual for thanking the Gods or can be performed if
       you need help with anything.
You need an atheme (ritual knife), black candle and the specific
color of a Gods candle (this depends who you are trying to
communicate with), incense, 2 glass (one for offering & one for
you) and the sigils of the Gods you want to communicate with.
Sit in front of your alter. Pour some liquid in the glass
for offering, this can be anything from water to wine or beer.
However, if a God does not enjoy drinking, offer them juice
instead. Light your candles and burn your incense. Focus on the
God's sigil. Now stand up, take your atheme and call the upon
the 4 main powers of Duat with their directions.
       Enki - Ea-East
       Enlil - North
       Asteroth - West
       Azazel - South
Note: While this is an official Ritual, I rarely call on more
than the god I intend to talk with personally. This is not MY
       ritual.
After this take a sip from your glass as you would share a drink
with a friend. state your intentions of performing the ritual.
If you want something then ask for it. However, Gods require an
offering in return of their help. Nothing comes free, especially
if you are going out of your way to ask help from a God. You can
find the appropriate offerings in the offerings section. Gods
sometimes accept your offering graciously but might feel they
need something more than a mere incense. This can be discussed
between you and the God you are communicating with. After
stating your intentions offer your gift or state the time you
will be offering your gift if you are working on a project such
as a painting or a song.
You may now complete your ritual. It's always better to light
one more incense after the completion, this lets the Gods know
that they are welcome to stay with you as long as they like.
Remember, Gods will help you with your need as long as they feel
it is with pure intentions so be careful.
NEVER DEMAND ANYTHING FROM THE GODS, NEVER TRY TO BANISH THEM
UNLESS THEY REQUEST IT OR TALK WITH THEM WITH A SENSE OF
ENTITLEMENT , THIS WILL ONLY MAKE THEM IGNORE YOU OR THEM TAKING
A PERSONAL ANNOYANCE AT YOU. IN SHORT, RESPECT YOUR ELDERS

I agree fully. In the beginning I dismissed with ' you may go in
peace'. But nowadays I want to learn from them, I want them
around. So I don't dismiss anymore.
For example Lucifer you don't dismiss ever, but Lilith I did use
(go in peace) but I don't do it anymore. We both trust each
other. Work with each other. We even have a sort of relationship
(family like) so she is very welcome to stay.
Does it feel good (familiar). Then you don't need to
       dismiss/banish.

I always say, "You may feel free to stay or go as you please..."
I do banishings of the house, but always with the addition,
"those who are not previously invited to remain, must depart..."
However, I do grounding of my temple space so that their energy
       cannot be hijacked by pretenders.

Indeed, I don't dismiss either, Instead I state that they can
stay or leave as they please and that they're always welcomed in
my temple. Some leave immediately, some stick around and some
come for a visit every now and then.

I think that it engenders the bond/relationship if you allow
them to just stay and be at peace. Nobody has EVER bothered me
by staying. They get to learn more about you and your life in a
relaxed state...observational. Not only that, but where you
might not feel them during an evocation, they might approach you
when you've laid down and begin to relax and enter into TGS for
sleepy time. They become more like family/friends. This practice
isn't necessarily for dabbler...but more for those who like to
build relationships and have long term goals in mind. However, a
dabbler might find themselves in that state of mind if they
       allow it.

I would recommend the use of your candles and a mirror. Place
your candle in front of a mirror and stare into the candle. It
can put you in a meditative state fairly fast. You can whisper
the enn of the god you wish to evoke while staring at the
reflection of the candle flame in the mirror. This has been
       very effective in my practice.

Usually when a god wishes to work with me, their name will enter
my mind and repeat over and over like a mantra almost
obsessively. It will NOT go away until I evoke them. Perhaps
that is what is going on with you and Abaddon. Give it a try.
