Research, it actually counts when figuring out if you have or
want one. They come and go but you know the ones that come to
stay on their own are the best ones! If you evoke they may not
stay for long if at all. Depends how you treat them and if they
match you as a person or by sun sign etc.. One or two I
inherited from a family member, though. It's possible! I have so
many its funny, I can't really get to know them all perfectly
well but the ones I do are the ones that stay life long or for a
few years. You do get familiar over time. Just like a pet.
Mine are fox, horse, owl, armadillo and hedgehog, wolf, bear,
chameleon, butterfly. There are probably others but those have
been with me a long time or even some are there from childhood
or teens.

I was linked to different. The main one is the owl, it has becom
a good symbol to have. It's amazing because it's a bless to see
one in some places. And during a part of my life the butterfly
was here, then crows, more recently fox and crow.
I have met the owl one day, I was in a group to study akashic
records...and I was not there....but i met a owl looking deeply
at me.

What are some spirit animal experiences you all have had?
My first experience with owl spirit was on a hike. There was a
creek nearby and I walked over to it. I felt watched and I
turned to see a gorgeous barn owl on a branch just peer into my
soul...I was captured. After that, I was hearing them and seeing
them all the time...especially in dreams. I have had so many owl
dreams I cannot even count them all.
Another experience was during a blizzard. I had walked into a
blizzard to burn some papers (let go of love letters) down at
the lake. It was a blizzard but I knew where I was. The snow was
deep and it was dark. So I lit this tiny fire and burned the
lover into oblivion and had a good cry. As I was crying and
releasing, I saw something approaching me. It was a red fox
(gray fox are more common in my region) and pitch black eyes,
much like that owl. She/he got really really close and just
stared at me. I talked to it for a second and when I got up to
go back to the cabin, it turned and trotted off into the
darkness. It came back to me one morning as I was leaving for
work. I squatted down and she/he came up to me...about two feet
away and just gazed. Eyes were indeed, pitch black.
Also, I had a mountain lion and a lynx in my backyard. I saw the
lion only once as she ran across the neighbors long drive and
into my back woods. But the lynx would come to my bedroom window
every night at the same exact time and sit beneath my
window...then after about ten minutes, would saunter down into
the deep ravine below.
Trying to think here....
Ah yes...snakes. Since childhood, I've had a strange thing about
snakes going UNDER me. Swinging in a hammock, sitting on the
porch. Snakes do not ever bother me. I spent a HUGE portion of
my childhood in the woods and never saw a snake although
copperheads and rattlesnakes are abundant in my region. They
come to me in dreams to warn me. Before I got married in 2003,
like the night before, there was a black snake that peeked it's
head out of the AC vent in the ceiling in my bedroom. And the
morning OF the wedding, I had a HUGE black snake slither between
my feet in the laundry room. I should have taken that as a good
warning because the marriage ended violently.
Tree frogs. I didn't have screens on my window one summer and I
had a little tree frog get in my room and he would sleep with me
at night. He would bounce around in my hair until I moved him,
or he'd perch up on my shoulder and chirp. When I moved my
bedroom to the other side of the house, he actually followed me.
His name was Froglan.
I've also had deer and other foxes (with normal eyes) walk up to
me fearlessly and stare. I have had hummingbirds perch on me.
