Possible but that would be a hassle and probably cost $.
I could sift through the last few years of people joining and
see how many mention meetup as how they found out about the
club, see if the $200/year actual brought members to sign up. Or
we could use this possible advertisement tool a better way?
There is 700 people still signed up to it even though we do not
       post events on it.

There is no one on the exec committee who wants to keep it at
that high price (over $300/year, not just $200/year), and the
EOC is giving up on theirs as well because it's been a lost
cause. Unless you're interested in taking on "responsibility"
for it, I don't think there's a lot of point in looking into it
       further. Here's the price breakdown:
  HTML https://help.meetup.com/hc/en-us/articles/360001620472-Organizer-subscription-pricing
A group in Canada pays $23.99USD/month (approx $374/CAD/year).
We can't justify keeping it just to "protect" our name.

I don't know much about Meetup other than it is easy to use to
post events and photos. We haven't had much luck with it
getting more members. I would get rid of it but I don't like
the fact that someone else could use our name. It would be very
       confusing to our members.
Twitter would be no use to us.
Instagram and Facebook can be linked so when you do a post on
Instagram it will post on Facebook too. If you are looking to
entice younger members, Instagram would be the way to go.

Simone is going to use Hootsuite to post to IG and Twitter
simultaneously. We were hoping that she could post to the FB
page at the same time, but since that is a "group page", and not
its own, actual account, it looks like that won't be possible.
I will manually post to FB and Simone will manage IG and
Twitter, and, if she's so inclined, manually post to FB as well.

I don't think there's a reasonable way for us to retain our
Meetup page just for the sake of "reserving" our name. The cost
to keep a Meetup group is almost $400CAD/year. The EOC is also
giving up their Meetup group - they've been trying for years to
utilize it effectively, and, like us, it has fallen flat for
       them.
