Are we competitive? What do the numbers look like...

---------------------------------------------------------
So first off, in practice sessions, I noticed the GT3s outnumber
the HPDs anywhere from twice to three times as much..
So get used to passing, get used to the different lines because
you will have to use all kinds. Do as much practicing with as
much traffic as possible.
Also, I personally don't believe in practicing a qualifying
setup very long because it doesn't help for the race and gives
you bad habits, especially for a 24hr race.
Have a look at the PDF attachment or the jpg of the practice
session that I posted. In this practice session all I was doing
is testing full fuel setups and tried to do 5-12 lap runs.
Now in the event stats I'm 12th position out of 19 hpds, not
impressive is it?
However if you look closer; look at the average times and look
at anyone who came close to over 20 laps, then things look
different, suddenly I'm in first position and in 3rd if you look
at total average lap times...
So what I'm saying is if in traffic, you can do consistent 1:38
to 1:39 then that's a pretty darn good and I'd say a great
competitive average time. If fact most of you have said you're
in that range so looks good!
I don't think we have a very high average iRating so I don't
think we'll be running the top splits, probably middle to low.
So if we can run all 24hr with no major contact and keep running
laps from 1:38s to 1:41s, then I think we'll do just fine at the
finish.
We just need to keep the car clean!
Of course this is just one practice session but I found the
other results were similar...

another thing you can look at to get an idea of our
'competitiveness' is the world records page

I thought the Grids were dependent on Quali time, not Irating

From what i understand its like a normal race.. splits based on
full team irating then quali times for each split.. but i could
be wrong.
On that note.. how do we register as a team? lol is it the first
person who signs in as a specific team? or is there a way to
sign up your team?

I know only the team principle or a designated admin can
register for the race, and the rest of us have to join AFTER
that, then join the team. As far as qualification goes, I'm not
sure how it works. I know practices are teams, qualification
may work the same way? If anyone knows, please post.

Pretty sure for qualifying we have to run laps under the team
well be racing with, so Mikhael or a team admin has to register
for the session then who ever wants to try for a qualifying time
can register and join. if that makes sense. so i think well need
to schedule a time or two where each of us can run some Q laps.
IMO qualifying isn't important in this long of a race.
Same thing for the race, team owner/admin registers the team for
the race. all the members of said team are then registered for
it as well and can join and leave as they please....im pretty
positive

quali goes by the best time out of anyone eligible to drive the
car.
But this is something we should figure out tonight and tomorrow,
i would hate to go in, try and register and have no luck getting
the proper car in...
I just want to make sure as im the first one to race. I found
this:
Q: How to sign up for a team event?
You can join a team event several ways. First, you can register
for the event on one of your teams that you previously created.
Second, you can create a team when you register for the event
and allow others looking for a team to join your team during the
event registration. Third, you can register for the event and
select a team you are already on or join a new one that is
recruiting.
It is important to note that if you are not joining the event
during normal registration you will already need to be a part of
team in order to join later. Existing team members can join the
team event as part of the team at any point during the event. If
you are looking to join a team for the event it must be done
prior to the event or at registration time.
Does this mean i can "create" the team when im likely the first
to register? Or would Mikeal want to be the first one in and
have us all listed to drive ahead of the race?

Ok VERY VERY important, Do NOT create a team at registration,
you will not be able to race with our team. You can only
register once, then that's it.
You must only join with Team Clean Machine, if you are unsure
then practice by using team Clean Machine to register in
practice, it'll be the same for the race...
You guys are all listed on team Clean Machine which means, all
you have to do is show up for your time slot, register with team
Clean Machine and off you go.
*** The team admin or captain has to register the team for the
main race even. Not to worry, I have to get up for work on
Saturday morning and will register the team as soon as it's
available and whoever drives first registers with Clean machine
and themselves, then race.
I haven't tried qualifying but I'm guessing anyone on the team
can go qualify, just register with the team and yourself and
qualify. If I have to do it then that's a lame system but I'll
be able to register the team tomorrow or make more team admins,
not sure if I can have more then one at once...
If anyone wants to try to qualify, please go ahead and report
back, I won't be home until tomorrow...

but i cant register with the team in practice... its not one of
my choices.. or do i just type the name in? The only options i
have are my "teams" as in the one named after me that everyone
gets

yeah there isnt an option to practice/qualify under team clean
machine unless the owner/admin registers the team for that
session
