The first point to be made is recognize how may times you check
your mirrors or the F3. Myself it is never in a critical
section of the track because I'm quite busy driving the car. I
expect that anyone I'm about to pass is doing the same. The
spotter in road racing should say "Oh shit" more than what ever
       he says.
I check my F3 on the straights looking for cars that are fast
approaching. I don't care if he is on the same lap as me or
especially several laps down, I'll try to manage the eventual
pass so that it happens safely. It will be a long race. This
is especially of concern with lap down cars for they may show
you quite quickly how they crashed to get laps down.
Slower cars I try to pass them giving them with as much notice
as possible. i.e. be along side of them before I enter a turn
so they they have some time to think what they need to do to
make the pass safe as well. Therefore I don't dive bomb and
take the corner away at the same moment I have pulled along side
       of the other car.
I don't pay any attention to the pass right pass left texting.
I find it distracting. It could be in error and most of the
time it is not being sent by the car in front of me. It is my
responsibility as the faster car to negotiate the pass safely.
I try to be aware that whenever I'm making a pass that more than
likely I have altered my preferred line to do so. Therefore I
need to adjust my speed to the new line. This usually means
slower or I would be driving that line all the time.

Good points Bill, myself I driver with the Virtual mirror on, it
sucks to have it there but really helps in keeping things safe.
If it looks like the GT3 car doesn't know what line they are
taking then I back off and wait until an obvious overtaking
       opportunity comes up.
       passing:
-If I can't pass on the inside of corner 1 then I back off to
       get a run after 2.
-I never pass in Corner 2 chicane unless the GT3 is paranoid and
slows down. If I can't take the inside on corner 1 then I back
off, time it so I get a run out of chicane and have speed for
       and inside corner 3 pass.
Most GT3 will go left to setup corner 3 but I've seen some stay
right which in the case you may want to back off and setup up to
       pass going out of 3.
-I never pass in 4, before yes but not in, wait and be patient
       for 5.
       - usually the inside of 5 is a good safe passing lane, always
       tricky this one...
       - If you couldn't pass inside 5 then try for inside 6 or just
       wait for the banking 7.
-I never pass in chicane 9-10, I will take the inside of 9 and
outside of 10 but don't want to force a pass between 9-10.
       little note:
I've hear of some guys out there racing on the Apron (not from
our team) and just wanted to make it clear that I don't believe
it's a racing surface, therefore it could be a protestable
       offence. Please don't do it!

Thanks for the notes and tips guys. I found passing to be quite
easy when in full practice sessions, most of the gt3 cars would
brake early and give me the corner if they seen me coming, if
they didnt I would just slow down and pass them when safe. So i
guess i have been doing it correctly.
My only plan for the race is to hand it off to the next racer
unscratched, while keeping a good pace. Maybe I will get one of
the members to watch me in a practice session see if there is
anything i'm doing incorrectly or anything i can improve on.

Must be very careful. One accident and we are done. No resets.

       yeah!
Also with minor damage, like clipping a wall, or too much of a
bump will cost us a good 2 sec. per lap. Im going to be as
careful as i can in the opening hour... Safe is the key word.
       The time is almost here!
