Sponsorship

Hey guys, I just found out that GTR Simulator (the guys I'm
buying my rig from) sponsor quite a few drivers/teams. I don't
know what benefits they provide, and if they pay real cash, but
this is something I'm taking interest in, especially good
exposure when doing enduro's and Road Warrior events. Of course,
they don't just sponsor anyone, but they do take applications
from professional drivers and sim racing teams, so we have a
chance to do something more serious than just do some prep for
an event, sign up and hope for the best.
Personally, if they even pay a little bit, at least there' s a
chance to get something out of what is otherwise a sinkhole that
you throw money into.
If we take this seriously and get better and better, who knows,
maybe this can be quite a nice on-the-side money maker.

Interesting, I'm guessing we'd have to be able to get into the
first split where the top racers are and those are the races
they broadcast.
It's a lofty goal, we'd all need to bring our iRating much
higher and get much faster...
It could be worth it if the money's good, maybe $100 or $150 a
race or if they sponsor with equipment...
If it could pay for an Accuforce wheel then that would be a
dream come true! :D

Well, if we have something to work towards, at least we will be
driven by something beyond just sim racing. :)
I've been gaining a second a lap for the last 2 years compared
to when I started. At this rate, I'm hoping to be fast enough
and consistent enough to get sponsored.

That would be pretty cool! Even if they had different levels of
sponsorship - i would be happy with even enough to pay for the
iracing service/couple cars and tracks each year... hahah. It
would probably be easier to get sposored as a team in the
beginning eh?
But its definatly something that would be a motivator to get
better for sure.
