Sebring is coming up
By: Sergey Pupko Date: March 7, 2015, 3:23 pm

We're about 3 weeks away from Sebring event. I think it's a good
idea to start focusing on it and figure out what we're doing.
I got a setup I'm working on that should be around 1:51-1:52 on
full load, but it is a bit loose. Even more so than my Daytona
setup which was actually pretty stable but can step out if
you're really pushing. Ideally I would like to be part of a 2
driver branch of the team. (I wonder if iRacing will ever let a
team have more than one car.. would come in handy for big
teams).
Shorter event means that we will not be able to have all of us
in one car for more than a stint-and-a-half so I'd say maximum
of 4 drivers, 3 preferred, just to make sure people have drive
time.

Sorry haven't been very active, busy with life stuff...
But yes let's start organizing and get things setup schedule
wise with how many cars and so on.
I'll restart the car discussion and take it from there, setup
testing would be nice, thanks Sergey for your efforts so far!

Ive been putting in some laps here and there, no real full
stints though.
I just cant find any speed here. 1:52's is about it for me so
far. Im kind of torn between the low and mid downforce setups at
the moment. Low downforce is obviously much faster over a lap,
but over 12 hours im not so sure, id feel much better having the
extra control of the car for a long race since like we saw in
daytona, all the top cars were running a couple seconds a lap
off their quali laptimes to avoid accidents... one hit and we
lose 2-5 sec per lap for sure.
I would agree with Sergey that we probably have enough people to
have at least 2 teams with less drivers, i would probably prefer
a 3 man car personally. lots of seat time, plus less swaps to
eliminate problems

Problem with medium downforce is with Sebring you'll deal with
traffic all the time and getting past them. There aren't a lot
of passing zones on the twisty bit so you rely almost solely on
fast straights for that. There are only a few of those so why
have all that downforce if you'll be stuck behind GT traffic
probably 75% of the time in the corners. Just saying.
