I haven't tried any setups yet but at Sebring I believe that it
needs to be a solid set that will enable us to maneuver through
traffic and to react quickly safely. If it's an on-the-edge
setup then there's high chances that car won't last 1 hr without
damage.
I think fast is the wrong mindset for these endurance races,
safe should be predominent. Some guy posted qualify times of the
winners of the races, I don't think one of the winners was
number one and most winners were actually low in the qual order.
In our split the winner was 10th in qualifying, even in the
first split the winner was 12th out 13, I think that says
something. Sure there were teams sandbagging out there but
having a clean car is what's going to make the win.
However at Sebring, I think everyone is going to have damage,
it's a much more technical track then Daytona by far. Not many
places to pass so patience is necessary. But as we saw in
Daytona, the HPD probably can do decent lap times even with aero
damage since there are not that many high speed straights at
Sebring...
Also because it looks like we'll have 2 cars, we can have a car
of guys who want to go fast and a car of guys who want to be
safe and see what happens...
I'm sure we'll come up with a solid fast setup by the time the
race comes, we have time. ;)

Eric, it is a good point. I was speaking more from experience
of running ldf at Sebring and you can make it work. I believe I
qualified at around 1:46 or 7 at aome point. And when you drive
the right line it is planted. Granted at low speeds it will
always be a little jittery but around fast corners it should be
stable.
An idea for the race is if we do 2 cars we can have an ldf and
mdf car and aee which performa better in the long run?

Maybe we could have a car with high IR people who try to get
into the higher splits. Also sadly, I have an Australian
Championship round on at Sydney that weekend, i'll see if i can
drive/fly up in time to catch the last few hours

Jack, you need to worry about your RL racing first, then about
us peasants :P

ya no worries Jack! However I may plan a double stint of 2-3
hours depending on if we have 2 HPDs, how many drivers we have
and then if you make it back in time I could just let you do one
of my second stints... ;)
I've asked to have that day off from work so I'll be able to
dedicate more time this time around...

We have a large team. I think we could do with even 3 cars. Two
cars with 3 drivers, 1 car with 2 drivers. I'll gladly drive for
the 2 driver car... Just sayin' :P

Agreed Sergey, if people want seat time, it's an easy thing this
time around!

Yep, and also 3 cars with same/similar setups and group effort
to maximize every driver gives us a pretty high chance at a
victory. not to mention having a 2nd car that can hold up a
competitor so the car ahead can pull away. Not exactly smiled
upon tactic but hey, it is a legal form of racing, as long as it
is not dangerous. Technically, it's an act of defending YOUR
position, while actually allowing your team mate to pull ahead.
