       How to not spin/crash.

Hey guys, just wanted to share something I found out from a
friend of mine a while ago who is super quick in HPD's and
IndyCars. He showed me a video that showed how that works.
Basically, if you ever find yourself in a slide (even at the
start of a slide) mash both breaks and gas. This stabilizes the
car and while you lose a second or 2.. or 3, at least you did
not hug that light pole. I found it best if you do that and turn
into the slide. As soon as the car stops sliding, ease on the
throttle until the car is fully stable. Sometimes the car still
wants to keep the rear spinning after you do that.
Practice it in test sessions, might save our race.
Also, the general consensus is that this isn't realistic and I
don't think this works IRL, but hey, while we are in the iRacing
service, we play by their rules and their laws of physics.
       Cheers

Ya I was gonna mention that, good one, it saved my butt a more
       then once.
I find with the lower tire pressures that the tires go to mush
and the car get's very understeery, I found with higher
       pressures that didn't happen...

If you do get off-track, it is a practice race so there's no
rush to get back on. Wait for a good wide
gap or drive to a safe place to re-enter the track.

Ok guys so did some reading about the new damage model, guys
have been testing this out. It seems like you don't get a new
car even after the full amount of repair time.
Not that this changes much as far as our plan but I just want to
make sure that everyone knows that it's more important to be
safe then have great lap times.
Racing is racing, many of us could get caught up in racing
incidents where there's not much we can do but let's do our best
to be careful and clean. And have fun of course! ;D

       good to know.
lapping a second slower than usual to be safe sure beats 30 mins
in the pits, and the rest of the race with a busted car.. but
its good that even if we get involved in an accident, it might
       not be game over.

Ya it seems like you'll get the car back with decent handling
because of the suspension repair but body work doesn't seem to
get 100% repaired. So a car could lose a lot of performance here
       and there.
And that's close to real life so good on iRacing if it works
       properly...

Honestly, recently I found it hard to crash. Car just feels so
planted that when you hit your marks and don't try to push the
braking line too far it'll reward you with stability like I've
       never felt on this car.
I know I'll be comfortable pushing, but, as always, getting
around traffic will be priority #1.

i agree, ill make mistakes.. losing lap time, but very few
random crashes... just gotta watch out for the other cars more
than our own skills.. safe passes all day!
A lot of people are still doing random things and taking weird
       lines when they are alone
