Offical Staff Applications.

COTW is currently looking for helpful staff members to help with
our site. We are accepting two Administrator, two Global
Moderators, five Moderators, six Assistant Moderators, ten
Community Assistants, and two programmers.
What we are looking for in staff:
1: We need staff members to be active.
2: They need to be helpful and experienced.
3: Good role-playing skills.
4: Good coding skills.
5: Good temper and understanding.
Only advanced and good apps. will be selected.

Community Assistant

solve the problem?:
Try my best to help them calm down and help them through the
problem.

you answer it?:
Try my best to answer it and referr them to another staff if I
cannot figure it out on my own.
Somebody asks to be a staff member. How to you respond?:
Tell them they need to be promoted first and be very active and
experienced.
Two members are in a fight in a thread. How do you solve the
problem?:
Remove the comments and calmly explain what they did and how
they could solve the problem next time.
You see someone spamming on a thread. How do you fix the
problem?:
Remove the spam and tell them why it was removed.

Why you want to be a Staff:
I have always wanted to be a staff member on a roleplaying site,
and I would love to help people with the forum. It just seems to
make my day with every question I would answer, and reading
posts where people joyfully thank me and carry me on their
shoulders and cheer, "Doodlestar! Doodlestar! Yaaaayy!"
[s]Doodle is so cheesy.[/s] I just think it is fun to be able to
help out and keep this wonderful site running smoothly.
Experience:
I have experience with digital art, coding, and animation.
Digital art is drawn work on a computer. I can also create 3D
models, and I am advanced in the arts of roleplay. I am also
literate, helpful, and a true friend. I can also make some mean
graphics, I ain't gonna lie.
Have you ever been a Staff in another site like this one?:
Well, not really like this one, but....I was an Administrator
for the game, "Savage Skies," which was a 3D PC game with fancy
graphics. In the game, you played as any animal you wanted. I
modeled most of the animals and did the animation, as well as
the coding. That game required tons of coding, including CSS and
HTML codings. Most of my coding experience came from my time as
an administrator for the game. But sadly, the game crashed a few
years ago. I tried to bring the game back up after it crashed,
but our Webmaster and game creator had disappeared and the staff
had fell apart, so I gave up on trying to bring the game back.
Every since then, I have stalked the internet, searching for a
new line of work and joy :) The game also had a roleplay forum,
which I modified.
Do you know about CSS/Html coding?(REQUIRED if Programer
position is desired.):
Yes, I do know about CSS and HTML coding. I have done tons of it
in my life, trust me. I know about other types of coding, too.
What position do you desire?:
Well...um...I don't know if I want Global Moderator or
Programer, can you decide for me? :) I really don't mind which
one I get.
Somebody PMs you yelling at you about a problem. How do you
solve the problem?:
Well, first of all, I would tell this guy to take a chill pill,
then ask him what the problem is. After he/she tells me what the
problem is, I will find a solution to the problem, then solve it
and fix it for the person.
Somebody PMs you a question you don't know the answer to. How do
you answer it?:
I would not panic if I didn't know the answer to a problem. I
would calmly tell the member to wait while I solve the problem.
I would quickly search around, trying to find an answer that
would fix the problem. If I couldn't, I would contact Firestar
or some other Admin and see if they had an answer. If the admins
did not know the answer, I would not give up. I would search to
the ends of the earth for a way to fix the problem, I am
determined like that. After finding a solution, I would return
to the member with the answer. I would try to do this as fast as
possible.
Somebody asks to be a staff member. How to you respond?:
I would tell him/her that you cannot just become a staff member
by asking, you have to work for it. If all staff positions were
filled, I would tell them so, but if there were applications, I
would send them the link to it.
Two members are in a fight in a thread. How do you solve the
problem?:
If it was a fight that did not have inappropriate behaviour,
like cussing or threats. both members would get a post warning.
I would remove their posts in which they were fighting. If it
was a fight with threats, both would get an official warning. If
there was cursing, both would get banned for an amount of time.
You see someone spamming on a thread. How do you fix the
problem?:
I will warn them and delete the spam on the thread. If it
continues, they will be banned for an amount of time.

{I like it... :P I am also adding an artist position, where you
design the pictures and such. if you would like, I can do a
combined position, just for you ;), where you could be called
and Artist/Programmer.}

staff because as cheesy as it sounds i like to help people out
and I get excited when I help people.
Experience: Well if you mean in roleplaying I do have a fair
amount, I roleplay over a story writing site and eventually
decided to try this out. I can also be advanced if I wish to be.

of. On a roleplay I was once on the owner of the roleplay
created a staff list to keep everything going. I was a
moderator, I was good at it to.

position is desired.): I'm not quite sure. I've done something
to do with that before and I ended up doing ok.
What position do you desire?: I would absolutely love to be a
moderator.

solve the problem?: hmm I will say this as if I was talking to
them. "Please, calm down. I'll go see what I can do about it and
will notify you when the problem is resolved. Until them stay
away from there/ that person and I will let the web master know"

you answer it?: once again I'll say it like I'm talking directly
"I'm quite sorry but I don't know the answer to that question, I
advise you ask another member of the staff but I will try to
find out the answer for you"

I'll do it like the previous ones "I can not make you a staff
member and I don't know wether were looking for a member of
staff at the moment. You could always check the general board
for the staff applications. Other wise I'm sorry but I can't
help you."

problem?: Yea once again the same way as before "Excuse me but
please do not fight in OOC at any point. By doing so you are
breaking the site rules and will have to face the appropriate
consequences and your posts will be deleted from this thread.
Thank you and please try not to get into another fight"

problem?: The same way as before. It makes it easier "Spamming
is not allowed and your spamming posts will be deleted. You
shall also face the appropriate consequences for violating the
site rules. Thank you"
You find a glitch in the coding, what do you do?: If I found a
glitch in the coding I would immediately contact the webmaster/s
and explain the glitch as best as I could.
The site is having problems, you don't know how to fix them.
What do you do?: If I didn't know how to fix a problem on the
site I would contact an administrator or a webmaster and notify
them of the problem and explain it as best as i could so that
they could fix the problem.
