Sapphira sat out quietly in the rippling waves of golden
sugarcane, next to her mate and husband, Samuel. She held her
first and only newborn child in her arms, leaning on Samuel's
shoulder.
She was exhausted. Sapphira had just given birth earlier today,
April 1st. She had named her child, her daughter, Riu.
Sapphira shifted positions and looked over to her husband. She
needed to talk to him. Sapphira knew that Samuel was a
shape-shifter, if he wasn't, then it would not be possible for
her to have given birth to Riu. Samuel did not know, though. But
he needed to. She looked down to her child, the half-human
half-cat creature that was her own offspring. Riu had eyes the
color of the clearest river. So Sapphira named her 'River' in
the Ancient language. Sapphira smiled as Riu yawned and blinked
open her inquisitive blue eyes.
Riu's aunt, Talana, was not here right now. Honestly, Sapphira
had no clue where her adopted daughter was. She was probably up
at the farmhouse, bothering the sugarcane farmers. Riu reached
out her hour old hand, and touched her father's arm. Riu was
growing fast. She looked and acted like she was already a week
old. Sapphira had no clue what to expect, this was the first
born shape-shifter. All the other shape-shifters had to drink
the water of the Shiftpool.

IC:
Samuel stared down at his newborn. His eyes shone with affection
as he patted Riu on the head. She was so precious. Just like her
mother.
Samuel knew now that Sapphire was a shape shifter. He didn't
really understand how she was born since he wasn't a
shapeshifter.
Or at least he didn't thnk he was.
Talana was prancing around the sugarcane barn, annoying that
farmers as always. That's what she did for fun when they went to
the farm. While Samuel and Sapphire were in the sugarcane field
with their newborn child, Talana was running around and
bothering the farmers. She did several things out herre to keep
her entertained. She would sometimes try to help the farmers
harvest sugarcane, but when she would get bored she would go out
and play with the farm fog the farmers had.
A few days ago, Talana had found a huge iguana in the forest.
She had tamed the liard and turned it into her pet. Sapphire and
Samuel said it was okay to keep the lizard as long as Talana
didn't scare people with the lizard.
Talana had named her lizard Walrus. Nobody has any idea why
Talana had named her lizard Walrus. But Talana didn't care.
Tslana ran around the farm. She has holding Walrus in her left
hand.

[center]Sapphira looked up to Samuel, and gently held his hand.
She really needed to tell him. "Samuel.." Sapphira started "I
need to tell you something.."
Riu closed her eyes again, and stretched. It was really strange
that Riu had tiger fur, and human skin. She had cat teeth and
cat claws on her fingers. But she had a human body shape, and
tongue. She could speak cat and human. She also had a tail. It
was all very confusing.
Sapphira had a couple thoughts going through her head. 'I think
I need to choose.. Human or Tiger.. Should I stay with
Morphclan, as a leader, or should I stay with Samuel as a
human?' [/center]

Samuel looked at Sapphire with slightly concerned eyes. "What is
it?" He asked gently, stroking her hair.

The daughter of one of the sugarcane farmers at the farm
suddenly ran up to Talana. "Hi there. Do you want to be
friends?" The girl asked Talana. She didn't see the huge lizard
in her left hand. Little did Talana know that this girl was
terrified of lizards.
Talana cheerfully looked at the girl. "You can be friends with
Walrus. He has no friends." Talana said, grinning. The girl
blinked, not knowing who Walrus was. Suddenly Talana playfully
set Walrus on the ground. Walrus ran over to the girl and licked
her leg.
The girl screamed so loud it could be heard from all over the
farm. She ran away instantly at the sight of the massive lizard,
still screaming.
Talana blinked and then picked up Walrus. "I wonder what her
problem is." Talana wondered aloud.

Sapphira looked up quickly, forgetting her previous question.
"Was that.. Ta
ana?!" she said, hoping her adopted daughter was okay.
Riu started crying after the girl screamed.

Talana walked over to them, her face still looking confused and
Walrus was sitting on her shoulder. "I'm fine. I tried to give
Walrus a friend but when he tried to become friends with her she
screamed and ran away. How rude." Talana grumbled, patting
Walrus on the head.

Sapphira smiled, and started to comfort the baby. "You scared us
half to death!" Sapphira told her jokingly.

"I did?" Talana giggled.
Walrus looked down at the crying child in Sapphire's arms. The
huge lizard climbed down from Talana's shoulder and playfully
licked the baby on the face with his long, rather sticky tongue.

Riu started to giggle, her child-like laughs seeming to break
the silence. Riu picked Walrus up, and swung him around
playfully, enjoying the giant igana. She was defianatly going to
be an animal person.
Sapphira looked down to her daughter again, when she picked up
the lizard. Sapphira's eyes widened with shock as Riu's arms
became covered in scales. Her first morph. DShe was only a few
hours old! Most shifters did not morph until they were 7!
Sapphira gripped Samuel's arm and shook it gently. "Samuel.."
she whispered "Samuel, look at Riu." she whispered again.

[center]Samuel looked at Sapphire with soft eyes, and then his
eyes went over to Riu. Samuel's eyes widened in shock. "I don't
understand..." He muttered. "How can she morph that early? Also,
I have no idea how we even managed to have a shifter baby.
You're a shifter, but I'm not...That doesn't make sense..."
Samuel muttered silently to where only Sapphire could hear him.
Walrus blinked as he watched Riu start to morph into a giant
female lizard. Unable to resist, Walrus walked a little bit
closer to Riu and then prepared to let out a iguana mating call.
Talana saw what her lizard was about to do and instantly picked
him up. "Bad Walrus." Talana said to him. Talana then walked off
towards the barn, holding Walrus in both hands. "We need to get
you fixed..." Talana said as she walked off.
Walrus blinked sadly. Forever alone.
