ISA - Trainings Guide

[center]This is the trainings section, here you will find
official examples of trainings which you can host according to
your rank. If you want to host an Instructional Training, you
are supposed to host one of the followings only, same applies to
the other types of trainings. You are not allowed to host any
kind of training that you can think of randomly, however you can
suggest training ideas and ISA head staff would finally decide
if making it an official one.[/center]

[center]Instructional Trainings:
These are the trainings strictly related to the lessons
appearing on the syllabus of every rank. These trainings are
very important since they are purely instructional about the
ISA's way of working.

Name: Line Up Formation
Training type: Instructional Training
Instructor rank: Seargent +
Location: Any big and flat area. Should also be a quiet place.
Vehicles used: Any kind to get to the location
Number of contributors: 3 +
Detailed explanation: The instructor should take the cadets to a
big area and tell them to do a simple line up. Once they do, the
instructor should start explaining the formation discipline. He
should explain every single command given by a high ranked
member when requesting a particular formation. Contributors
should understand the "3,3,3" formation and also practice other
kind of formations, "X,X,X". The instructor should also explain
the "V Space" and "H space", by ordering contributors to perform
them. Contributors should understand the formation basics at a
100%, clearing up any kind of doubts by asking the trained
instructor.

Name: Highway Patrol
Training type: Instructional Training
Instructor rank: Seargent +
Location: Any long highway (Interstate 27 is highly recommended,
starting from the flint intersection)
Vehicles used: Police cruisers LV/SF/LS
Number of contributors: 1 +
Detailed explanation: The instructor should take the
contributors to a highway/road. Once there he should explain
cadets that here in ISA we have one important procedure when
successfully pulling over a vehicle and another considerable
procedure when dealing with a criminal surrendering in a
vehicle. The instructor should first make an example by pulling
over the contributors (both using police cruisers) and following
the procedure steps. After showing the cadets how is it done and
clearing up all possible doubts, he should then tell the cadets
to perform the two procedures one by one.
Finally, the instructor should also explain what would happen if
un-wanted or wanted reckless drivers do not pull over.

Name: Shooting at tyres (On foot / In a vehicle)
Training type: Instructional Training
Instructor rank: Sergeant +
Location: Long roads with barely no people (Bone County desert
roads are highly recommended, also near Fort Carson PD to spawn
cruisers)
Vehicles used: Police cruisers LV/SF/LS
Number of contributors: 2 +
Detailed explanation: The instructor should take contributors to
an "abandoned" road, basically a place where there is absolutely
no danger in opening fire, there should be no civilians around.
Once there the instructor should explain the two lessons, one
would be on foot and the other one would be on the passenger
seat of a vehicle (we use M4 for this training)
They should start by shooting the tyres on foot, in order to
perform this, the instructor should drive a police car with a
high speed along a road. The contributors should stand on a
certain spot of the road and try shooting at the tyres only, one
by one of course. They should try not to damage the vehicle
itself, just popping the tyres (2 + tyres would be enough). This
activity should be repeated a couple of times.
After that, they should carry on with the second lesson:
Shooting at tyres in a vehicle. The instructor should drive a
cruiser with a high/standard speed, one of the contributors
should chase the instructor with another police cruiser and the
other contributor should sit on the front passenger seat and
attempt to shoot at the "suspect's" vehicle tyres (2 + popped
tyres would be enough), he should try not to damage the
instructor's cruiser.
Extra information: When approaching to the "suspect's" vehicle,
the driver of the police cruiser should try to mantain a nice
speed, he should also take a comfortable position for the
shooter. The driver should position his vehicle this way:
"linkSS" (If the shooter is on the front passenger seat), or
take this position: "linkSS" (If the shooter is on the passenger
seat right behind the driver).
The shooter is supposed to shoot at the tyres only, without
really damaging the suspect's vehicle. In order to do it, he
should open fire slowly and accurately. He should take all
possible precautions.

Name: Emergency Arrival Position (EAP)
Training type: Instructional Training
Instructor rank: Sergeant +
Location: Any kind of building with a street/road on the front,
could be also a street only, depending on the type of EAP (the
place should not be crowded at all)
Vehicles used: Police cruisers
Number of contributors: 1 +
Detailed explanation: The instructor should by explaining each
type of EAP, or by making the contributors to read the General
Police Guide, lesson number 17. Then he should tell contributors
to perform different types of EAP's explaining every detail and
clearing up all possible doubts.
Extra information: It's important to know that for example, when
performing a "Full EAP", it doesn't mean we must block the
entire street, it means we are allowed to do it, but we don't
necessarily need to and it actually depends on the situation.
Same applies to all the other EAP types, with their own
characteristics of course.

Name: Patrolling
Training type: Instructional training
Instructor rank: Constable +
Location: Anywhere
Vehicles used: Police cruiser
Number of contributors: 1 max
Detailed explanation: Well, this isn't really a training, but an
activity that will be really useful to train Officers. One
Officer should get on a Corporal+ police cruiser and act as a
"passenger officer". He should go along with the Corporal+ in
his normal patrolling activities, the Corporal+ is supposed to
clear all possible doubts and also to show a good general
behaviour. The Officer should read the General Police Guide,
lesson number 9 and also to observe/learn how to patrol ISA
style, as well as helping him with any of the patrolling tasks.

Name: Emergency Scene behaviour
Training type: Instructional Training
Instructor rank: Sergeant
Location: Any building with a calm street on the front
Vehicles used: Police Cruisers SF/LV/LS
Number of contributors: 1+
Detailed explanation: The Instructor should take the
contributors to the location and start explaining a bit about
the subject. Contributors should already know about EAP's. The
instructor is supposed to create different scenarios according
to the examples given in the GPG. He should explain contributors
how to act, watch how they handle different situations and
correct them if necessary.

Name: Pursuit Basics
Training type: Instructional Training

Location: Any calm highway
Vehicles used: Police Cruisers SF/LV/LS
Number of contributors: 2+
Detailed explanation: The instructor should take the
contributors and make them park their cruisers to start
explaining what they are gonna be doing. The training should
start with a passive police pursuit, where the instructor would
be acting as the suspect. Contributors should understand how to
respect their positions in a pursuit and how to behave in
general. Once they managed to understand a passive pursuit, an
active pursuit should be started, contributors should know
what's the difference between Active and Passive.

Name: Emergency Driving / Chasing
Training type: Instructional Training

Location: Any calm highway and SF city streets
Vehicles used: Police Cruisers SF/LV/LS
Number of contributors: 1+
Detailed explanation: The instructor should take the
contributors to San Fierro, since it usually has less people
than all the other cities. He should then start explaining about
the Emergency Driving style, which is the way of driving ISA
members are gonna use in order to get to a certain Emergency
Scene. A few exercises should be done about it and the
instructor should explain the right and safe way to take a turn
in a intersection, which is not by skidding/drifting. He should
also explain that officers should slow down once they get to the
scene, to avoid any possible accidents. The next part of the
training would be teaching the contributors how to chase
somebody, as a first cruiser. The instructor should explain how
not to lose the suspect and (in case the pursuit turns active),
when would it be okay to attempt a PIT maneuver to avoid any
possible accidents.

These trainings are strictly related to ISA's usual activities.
This trainings are not related to any rank specifically, but to
the entire department since it's about things we will have to
improve and develop as a group. These trainings will be hosted
frequently since it's about things that we need to constantly
practice.

that will test and give us an idea about our organization
skills. The purpose of this, is to improve our teamwork and to
make us ready for any kind of real situation demanding total

What are the "followings" :P
I think that in addition to the standard trainings that we do
the training host can do a driving training for example where he
chooses the road etc...
