At one particular night for Luther Heggs can lead to many
disastrous occurence in his life, when he accidentaly riding his
car back home and passing Simmons Mansion, a big house told to
be haunted by its late owner. The tale is long foretold,
circling around citizen of Rachel, Kansas. And of course, the
story having sum of hiperbolic words from man to man, woman to
woman and so on, making the true story diminished and replace by
       folktales.
Luther, an easily frantic man, work as typesetter on local
newspaper suddenly getting bullied by his demeanor act. And now
he demand his boss to proof that he is brave by giving him a
       chance to write a
dramatic story. But who is Luther, that somebody has to obey
       him?
Alan Rafkin who direct Ski Party (1965), again proofing his
midas touch in comedy genre. Colaborating with Don Knotts (The
Andy Griffith Show), Alan brilliantly packing comedy and
polished it with superb acting of Don Knotts. Some slapticks
still needed to give bright ambient over dark ambient throughout
the film. Script writer team show their true talent by providing
such a fresh story. I love this kind of movie. Kind of simple
event can be expanded into complex story yet easy to follow.
I love the appearance of Joan Staley. She truly gave wonderful
       impression for me.
I personally recommend this movie to all those movie lovers.
