Why would an adult read children's books?

I suppose I ought to get the ball rolling with our first topic!
I'm in my thirties now and I still read children's books. In the
case of meatier ones like Harry Potter, I'm pretty sure I get
just as engrossed in the characters and plot as any child could
hope to. As much as the mythology of The Boy who Lived, part of
the appeal of Hogwarts is following the day-to-day soap of the
children's lives and their interactions with each other and
       their teachers.
I even enjoy books for younger readers, like Roald Dahl (my
favourite is The Witches) - but I don't lose myself in them in
quite the same way. I just marvel at the imagination and
showmanship. It's like watching a shadow play or a puppet show
more than a movie. I never really believe it, but I still enjoy
       the ingenuity of it all.
So, what about you? If you've come to this forum, I'm guessing
you either have children or read children's books yourself. What
is your attitude to adults reading books written for children?

Keeps me young and it reminds me of my long ago youth.
