Bulls' Deng earns defensive honor; Boozer gets vote

One of the league's stingiest defenses has drawn postseason
recognition again.
Bulls forward Luol Deng landed on the NBA's All-Defensive second
team Wednesday, following Joakim Noah's inclusion on the same
team after last season. The Bulls haven't had an All-Defensive
first-team member since Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen were
on the 1997-98 squad.
"We're happy for Luol," general manager Gar Forman said. "He's
certainly deserving of this honor."
In his first such inclusion, Deng received six first- and eight
second-place votes for 20 points from the 30 NBA head coaches.
Coaches had to vote by position and were prohibited from voting
for their players. The Celtics' Kevin Garnett and Rajon Rondo,
the Knicks' Tyson Chandler and the Lakers' Kobe Bryant joined
Deng on the second team.
The first team consisted of the Grizzlies' Tony Allen -- a
native Chicagoan -- the Clippers' Chris Paul, the Thunder's
Serge Ibaka, the Heat's LeBron James and the Magic's Dwight
Howard. Howard beat out Chandler, who won Defensive Player of
the Year honors in voting by media.

How can Chandler, the defensive player of the year, not make the
first team?
It does not make sense.

Looks like OKC is in now. I don't think Boston (who I think is
winning tonight) can hang with these guys athletically. I say
OKC wins it's first championship in their new place of
residence!

I'm rooting for OKC too!
They'll have to man up and win at least one on the road since
they lost game 2 at home. I don't think any team has won all
three home games in the middle of the 2-3-2 format since the NBA
switched to it.

They've gotten off to slow starts in the first 2 games.
They have to get off to a good start and defend Battier because
he's been killing them from the outside.
IF all of the big 3 from Miami has a good game it'll be tough
for the Thunder.

In a way I'm rooting for OKC but if they don't win tonight the
it's curtains for them.
I thought they'd win in 7 but they definitely have to win
tonight.

The jumpshots just quit falling for OKC. Harden has been awol.
If they think they can beat the Heat shooting jumpshots the
series will end without ever going back to OKC.
IMO the way to beat the Heat is to attack the basket
consistently. If OKC loses game 4 it's all over I think.

Westbrook kicked azz last night but they couldn't pull it out.
IF they can win game 5 and get it back to OKC I think they could
do it in 7 games.
I'm not going to count them out yet. But Harden needs to put up
points for them to have a chance tomorrow night.

Well OKC laid down last night. Now LeBron is going to be on TV
all summer long for winning a championship.
