All these teams do is choke. It's a pitiful sports city.
Choke, choke, choke, choke, choke.
The MVP was a disgrace in the biggest series since 1998,
Boozer's flagrant foul woke up Miami (release him, trade him or
somehting) Korver was useless, The COY was a stubborn asswipe.
They deserve what they get.

If lockout ends, Bulls' home opener Nov. 5 vs. Hawks

The NBA released a 2011-12 schedule Tuesday that few league
observers expect to be followed, given that a lockout and little
progress on a new collective bargaining agreement threaten to
wipe out part, if not all, of the season.
If a new agreement is ratified in time, the Bulls would open the
46th season in franchise history against the defending champion
Dallas Mavericks on Nov. 1. Seemingly fittingly for a team that
typically is near the top in back-to-back games, the Bulls would
play at New Orleans the following night. The home opener is
scheduled for Nov. 5 against the Atlanta Hawks.
As previously reported, the Bulls are scheduled to play the Los
Angeles Lakers at Staples Center on Christmas Day, a game that
would kick off a rare West Coast trip in December. Typically,
the Bulls play all their West Coast opponents during their two
extended trips to vacate the United Center for the circus in
November and ice show in February.
This time, the Bulls would face the Lakers on Dec. 25, the
Golden State Warriors the following day and the Sacramento Kings
on Dec. 28.
For fans awaiting a rematch of the Eastern Conference finals,
the Bulls' first meeting against LeBron James and the Heat is
Jan. 19 in Miami.
Both of the extended trips are tough ones. The circus trip
features eight straight road games from Nov. 13 in Washington to
Nov. 26 in Milwaukee. Five of those games are against Western
Conference teams, including a back-to-back against the Phoenix
Suns and Los Angeles Clippers on Nov. 18 and 19 and the Utah
Jazz and Denver Nuggets on Nov. 21 and 22. With the trip
starting out East and ending with a back-to-back against the
Indiana Pacers and Milwaukee Bucks on Nov. 25 and 26, the Bulls
would stop home twice to practice at the Berto Cente
The ice show trip features seven straight road games starting
Jan. 29 in Miami and ending Feb. 12 in Boston. That trip only
has one set of back-to-back games though.
Big home games are scheduled for Dec. 7 against Dallas, March 14
and April 12 against the Heat, Feb. 16 and April 5 against the
Celtics and March 8 against the Lakers.
The Bulls are currently scheduled to play on national television
29 times.

Rose agrees to five-year contract extension with Bulls

Derrick Rose has agreed to his five-year, roughly $94 million
contract extension and the Bulls plan to make the formality
official either later Tuesday or Wednesday, sources told the
Tribune.
The extension is for roughly $10-11 million more than Rose
would've been eligible for under the previous collective
bargaining agreement. However, a new rule, which has been
nicknamed the "Derrick Rose rule" rewards players who outperform
their rookie scale contract. Rose qualifies for one of the three
stipulations by virtue of becoming the youngest most valuable
player in NBA history last season.
The extension will begin in the 2012-13 season and is eligible
to start near $16 million in the first year. Rose, 23, told the
Tribune recently that he isn't focused on the financial
windfall.
"I don't play for money," he said. "I play to win."

Michael Reinsdorf forms new executive team for Bulls
Michael Reinsdorf has made his first big move as president of
the Bulls, announcing Thursday a new executive committee to
assist in strategic planning and daily management of business
operations.
The move includes hiring Susan Goodenow as vice-president of
branding and communications and the promotion of John Viola to
vice-president of corporate sales. Both are new positions in the
organization.
Ms. Goodenow spent the last four years with the Boston Red Sox,
most recently as senior vice-president for public affairs and
marketing.

Report: Przybilla Deciding Between Bulls, Heat

On the Chicago Bulls' radar since training camp, veteran big man
Joel Przybilla is nearing a decision on where to resume his
playing career.
Przybilla's agent, Bill Duffy, confirmed that the center is
weighing offers to sign with either the Bulls or Miami Heat,
perhaps as early as this week. The Tribune reported the Bulls'
interest in Przybilla in early December. The Sporting News
reported on Wednesday that Przybilla's decision is imminent.
Przybilla, 32, has been spending time with his family in
Wisconsin after playing 36 games with Portland and Charlotte
last season. In 10 NBA seasons, Przybilla has averaged 4 points
and 6.3 rebounds in 553 career games.

Thibodeau wins Coach of Month honor
February 1, 2012
Tom Thibodeau has been named Eastern Conference Coach of the
Month for games played in December and January.
The NBA lockout forced the season to start on Christmas Day,
thus the unique nature of the first montly award. Oklahoma
City's Scott Brooks won the Western Conference honor.
Thibodeau led the Bulls to an Eastern Conference best 18-5 mark
and won 13 games by double digits.

ORLANDO, Fla. — Two months after signing a five-year, $95
million contract extension with the Bulls, Derrick Rose has
really struck it rich.
Rose said he signed a "lifetime" contract with Adidas, which a
source confirmed is for 14 years and $260 million.
CSNChicago.com first reported that figure.
"Man, it's definitely a blessing," Rose said. "They've been with
me since the beginning and stuck with me and I'm happy I'm a
part of them for the rest of my life. They've been doing
everything promotional-wise to make sure they put me out there,
marketing me great all over the world. That's all I needed from
them."
A source close to Rose said the deal actually was agreed to in
principle in December. However, Rose signed the deal Friday in
Orlando. He is making promotional appearances for the company
this weekend.
"It's great, man," Rose said. "Of course we've been trying to
get it out of the way for a long time. I just remember them
bringing it up to me and I couldn't really think about the
amount. It was crazy. I'm just blessed and feel grateful."
Rose shrugged off whether the combined $355 million will change
him.
"Not at all," he said. "I know that with the way that I play and
how hard I work, I know I should be fine."
Players showed appreciation for Rose's deal. Dwyane Wade
playfully interrupted a question as he passed Rose to say "so
fulfilling, so fulfilling." And Kevin Durant, a Nike guy like
Wade, shook his head.
"Wow," he said. "I wish I could get a 14-year deal. D-Rose
deserves everything he's getting. He's an unbelievable leader,
so humble. If you just looked out on the court and didn't know
who he was, you wouldn't think he's the MVP of the league, just
how well he blends in with his teammates and how he puts himself
always last. I'm very, very happy for him."

Bulls' Rose wins Player of Week honor

Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose has been named Eastern
Conference player of the week, the NBA announced Monday.
Denver Nuggets guard Ty Lawson won the Western Conference honor.
Rose helped the Bulls win four straight games, including three
on the road. Rose averaged 28.8 points, 7.5 assists and 1.75
steals. The road victories included one at San Antonio, which
previously had dropped just one home game, and Philadelphia,
where Rose tied his season-high with 35 points.
The Bulls are an NBA-best 17-6 on the road.
