North Korean Janggi: They Play It Differently!
By: Asher Hurowitz Date: December 20, 2017, 3:47 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
I am fortunate to have many friends from South Korea, one of
these friends has informed me that in the Communist North they
       play Janggi differently:
-The Chariots (車) are called the "missiles" (a reflection
of their current warlike scientific goals) placed next to the
advisors nearest to the fortress instead of the Elephants
(象) or Horses (馬) instead of the traditional spot
the chariots have occupied in every other variant I can
       remember, the back rank ends.
-The General (Cho楚/Han漢) is called the Marshall,
regardless of side, discarding the foreign Chinese Chu/Han war
for a more patriotic reflection of the countries system of
government by using the preferred title of the current head of
       state.
       What do you think?

I hadn't heard of that, are the rest of the rules the same?

If they are playing the game on Kim Jon Un's birthday, they call
The General "Our Holy and Great Leader."
